Unfortunately (and sadly) a pretty accurate summary Concongorozides wrote:Billings is probably the least of our worries.
But by golly we have some worries.
From the back line
Geary - a worry - cant kick. slow.
Brown - a worry - cant run
Webster - a worry - cant stay on his feet
Savage - makes bad decisions
Roberton - makes bad decisions. dodgy kicking.
Carlisle - great mark.
Sinclair - i like him.
Ross - Great last year. totally off his tucker this year. Not sure what the problem is?
Newnes - makes poor decisions. not quick. dodgy kicking at times.
Steven - good. not an elite kick though.
Rucks - problems there.
Armo - cooked.
Billings - ok.
Bruce - off his tucker big time.
Gresham - not sure yet.
McCartin - serious worries here
Long - not sure yet.
Acres - good.
Dunstan - good.
Coffield - good already but he must be spewing he was drafted by us
Clark - will be good
Everyone else - worries

Re: Billings
Not too worried about the backs simply because of the amount of HBF we drafted last year plus a few already playing OK for Sandy.
Bit hard on Roberton as he was in the AA squad for a reason, Gresham should be good at worst, great if we get lucky, Marshall looks promising in the ruck but early days. I agree with most everything else

This is one of your best posts ever Con.
PS and I pretty much agree, but not totally agree, as an assessment of where players are at.
ie I rate Savage higher. Ever wondered why opposition coaches allow Geary to run free whereas how they clamp down on Savage? Savage can cut teams up. Geary does not. If Geary could hurt, then he too would be tightened up on and so Savage would get free more often.
Ditto for Webster WHO was a good kick, bit now is not.
So opposition coaches try and clamp down on Savage and Robbo so that switch the ball to other players. This is why Geary gets good numbers as opposition coaches prefer that he is given the ball.

Every player has either stagnated or gone backwards from 2 years ago, obviously the coaching staff isn’t getting the job done

Billings got 23 touches v Cats. Averages 23 for the year basically. Hardly our best but nowhere near our worst. Not even close, lets be truthful and deal with facts and statistical analysis.

Most are cheap, ineffective possessions. Nothing inspiring in his play. Been in the system for 5 years. Nothing inspiring in his play. Is weak and soft like the other posters say.parkeysainter wrote:Billings got 23 touches v Cats. Averages 23 for the year basically. Hardly our best but nowhere near our worst. He always gets 20 odd shitful touches. Lots of turnovers. Low efficiency.parkeysainter wrote:Billings got 23 touches v Cats. Averages 23 for the year basically. Hardly our best but nowhere near our worst. Not even close, lets be truthful and deal with facts and statistical analysis.
52.74 for his career from 68 games.
Utterly shitful return for a permanent fwd. Utterly shitful conversion for someone with supposedly 'elite kicking'.
Find me a worse kick for goal in the AFL. Will take some looking. Seeing you love stats so much you can go off and do that little errand and leave us alone for a while.

Re: Billings
Who would you liked him to kick it too? There’s no flow to our game at the moment he’s the link up from half back to forward only bellends like Geary Bruce Hickey and the like decide to ignore him and his run. Then when he gets it too kick we have no one forward or one on three.congorozides wrote:He always gets 20 odd shitful touches. Lots of turnovers. True but he still getting the footy which is half the battle. He needs to get better in this area like the entire list does.MC Gusto wrote:23 at 53% and 5 turnovers

I am astounded he got that many. 23 ghost touches.

Re: Billings
His kicking for goal has NOTHING to do with the s*** team he's playing in. It's just making excuses for him. He's a big part of why we're so s***.
If he's getting the ball, on average, 23 times, then that's 23 opportunities for him to set up plays. That's why we drafted him. His set shot was classic Billings and he never looked like scoring. He missed a very gettable snap for a small fwd too later in the game. Just a good average small fwd who is getting paid well and truly over what he's delivering/delivered.
I'll keep saying it. He looks like a good kick but he's actually quite a poor kick, both for goals and field kicking

Yes, they’re a troll.dragit wrote:Wot pav said. ^SaintPav wrote:F*ck off, troll.
But, I think Billings’ only signing a two year extension was pretty telling. I think he’s far from convinced that his future is at the Saints.
If this season ends the way it started, Billings may be one of several who start requesting trades when their contracts up.
