"Fremantle Football Club have reached a confidential settlement with a former junior staffer who alleges she was harassed by coach Ross Lyon several years ago.
The Age can reveal the payment, understood to be a low five-figure sum, came as a result of an incident at a club Christmas function where Lyon allegedly made inappropriate comments about the woman's attire."

Yup, fair comment, I would change title if I was not too computer illiterate to do so.thejiggingsaint wrote:Nothing “ saucy “ about sexual harassment

What a disgrace, especially in this day and age. The part about "trying to keep it quiet with dirty slime ridden money" is actually worse than the offence.

Re: Saucy Lyon
Pretty obvious. It was bad enough the Dockers had to secretly pay out the poor chick. A pure lack of class and respect shown to the opposite sex on both counts. Oh well...as long as Rossy gets them back into the finals. Whatever it takes!St. Paul wrote:No doubt you've been fully briefed on the circumstances, PS. Fill us in. Re: Saucy Lyon
Quite frankly I don't care. If Lyon has done something illegal he should be charged, otherwise it's a non story. Sounds like he's allegedly made an innapropriate comment about a womans dress at a Christmas party. Not ideal, but so what. Sounds like the woman was paid a $5 figure sum to keep quiet, that a lot of money for an innapropriate comment.

Re: Saucy Lyon
20k for an inappropriate comment sounds a bit rich. Obviously more than just a comment. Maybe it was continual harrassment?
Maybe 15k?

Re: Saucy Lyon
No, seriously, PS.,What was actually said and done? These things are often mediated out and paid for to avoid unnecessary distress for victims and organisations alike. Head up to the FWC and you'll see shyte disputes settled all the time. We don't know what he's done. It may have been a sleazy comment, or a grope. All inappropriate, but we don't actually know. She received a low five figure payout (code for around 10k), which means going by industry standards it is at the very lowest end of the scale. Apparently she hasn't worked in four months. That we do know. Channel 10 reporting it was an inappropriate comment. Must have been an absolute shocker to put her out of action for that long.parkeysainter wrote:Pretty obvious. Well, that's the upside!
As is always the way, it's not the crime that gets them (and this was not a crime) it's the cover-up!

Re: Saucy Lyon
Sounds like there's quite a cover up here. The lewd comment from Ross might just be a small part of it.

you have to ask whether it's fake news.
He made a comment about her clothing.
Could have been to do with her weight, maybe she's a big 'un?

Re: Saucy Lyon
There is a reported confidentiality agreement in place between the parties. Rather than leap straight to the cover up conspiracy theory, maybe it's a case of the victim wanting her privacy and was satisfied by the compensation and now just wants to move on with her life. As many people in the same situation do every day.

Re: Saucy Lyon
AFL knew about it. Read the articles and statements. The AFL purposely didn't bring it into the public eye 5 years back. It all sounds very dodgy. Pretty sure the AFL didn't want to make it public due to Ross just being new to Freo and to protect their brand in WA. Yet, they publicly shame and drag 19 year old Powell-Pepper through the mud for 3 weeks.St. Paul wrote:How on earth do you know that?parkeysainter wrote:AFL knew about it and helped cover it up.

Re: Saucy Lyon
Which articles? Reference? Again, I ask the question. How do you know what goes on behind closed doors at the AFL? You don't. For someone who seems to hold those who challenge you to high standards of proof, you certainly don't adhere to the standards you demand of others. You have a very annoying habit of posting your opinion as fact. People who routinely do that lack credibility, integrity, maturity and the intelligence to argue properly. Other posters in here have noticed that as well.

Re: Saucy Lyon
Drake Mk2, seriously...just give it up.
If you don't think the AFL knew about this then you are crazy. The AFL even did their own internal review on Rossy boy and were never going to make it public. Its pretty clear this is the case.
