I just gave myself an uppercut.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Not sure what else we could've done, we need all the size and strength we can muster against this mod. Reckon we'll get smashed.
Perhaps we should accidentally miss the flight and forfeit. (It worked for Essendon a couple of years ago)

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
Do they fly Qantas or Virgin?
I need to know so I can work out what terminal to plant the bomb in so Melbourne Airport gets shut down.
In all seriousness though, it will be a good test for all these kids and a learning expierence. Logan Austin is the only big bloke we have down back and he's playing on Kennedy. What a test and it will be good to see how he goes.
Guessing Paton will get his debut next week or soon after. Oh, and you say his last name as in "Payton" not "Patton."

We don’t need to tank this year.

Anyone know Dunstan's injury?
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
I understand and have no issue with Marshall... we need some options with Carlisle out.
But here’s what I can’t stand about Richo in a nutshell...
I don’t remember anything from the VFL reports suggesting Weller blitzed it and demanded a recall and the reality is he’s a tried and known commodity at this point... and the known part = not that good, could be ok.
Players I would have liked to have seen in the team ahead of Mav:
Minchington (I know he’s only just got back but he started well)
Conellan (been playing well, has pace and has been kicking goals)
Coffield (hasn’t blitzed it but has potential and looked decent)
Paton (promising reports, good speed and disposal)
Battle (move Membrey up the ground if he doesn’t want to take set shots)
Wright (finished but he kicked a bunch of goals and got the ball in addition to pressuring his opponent)
Armo (finished but at least he got 40 possessions)
Quite literally I have him 8th in line.
Outside of tanking can anyone give me a valid reason to bring a medium pressuring forward with average disposal who has done little to justify selection in to an underperforming team

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
Would have preferred Coffield instead of Weller, he is the same height as Darling, and whilst not as strong, he could at least spend some time opposing him, if doesn't work its up to Jimmy. Weller brought in for his strength I guess - Dunstan is out.skeptic wrote: ↑Thu 31 May 2018 8:34pm I understand and have no issue with Marshall... we need some options with Carlisle out.

Shift Paddy to defense. He will get plenty of opportunity there. Might learn something. I would have given Battle a chance.

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
Who plays on Darling if Austin plays on Kennedy.
Here's an idea.
We play McCartin on Darling.
Remember when Fevola was made to play on Gehrig for a quarter.
It was the most humiliating and best learning experience Fevola ever had.
He was begging the coach for mercy after the first half of the first quarter.
No mercy, he was made to play out the whole of the first quarter.
I so enjoyed shouting out "telephone, telephone, telephone for Mr Fevola" when the runner kept running to him after every Gehrig goal.
The Carlton supporters were not amused.
Pudding needs just such an experience to learn that unfit and overweight are not acceptable.
He needs to move out of first gear.
You have to be able to run and compete (successfully) to play AFL.

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
Folks, I live in Perth, and can tell you it bucketed down today-
in fact, it rained cats and dogs...and my shoes got wet because I stepped in a poodle
Heavy rain.
Bad news for Saturday, 19 deg during the day, but about 9 deg at night, only 1% chance of rain.
In further bad news, TAB has the line at WCE -54.5.
If you wanna make any money, best go for 10 goal thrashing, might pay about $1.80

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
I thought the club had released the team.
After looking at it I puked.
But then I realised they had made a mistake.
That is clearly our reserves team.
O.K. so when do they release our seniors team.

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
He is overweight and unfit because the club allows him to be and he doesnt appear to take his lack of fitness as seriously as others. The was a lot of noise about how fit he was at the start of the year. Playing Weller is a mistake, he has not got the fire in the belly this year, I am not sure what has gone wrong there. The club should have put in one of the younger blokes like Battle and Richardson could have shuffled a few around.

Re: In Weller Marshall out Carlisle Dunstan
I agree. The Saints are are too predictable with one dimensional tall forwards who are struggling to mark a ball let alone kick goals. When the ball hits the ground they are a liability. Switch things around. Throw Membrey on the ball with his size and agility he could be an impact player in the mould of Fyffe. We need an aggression injection. The wheels were destined to come off when the club was abjectly apologetic to Carlton (of all clubs). There's no mongrel in the way we play. Tackles are too easily brushed aside (if a tackle is applied at all as players concentrate on guarding wasted space). I want to see some ferocity at the ball.....AND some hefty shepherding!!!wasoncestkil58 wrote: ↑Thu 31 May 2018 9:15pm Shift Paddy to defense. He will get plenty of opportunity there. Armo is useless. Yes, he had a heap of it, and turned most of them over.
Wright is useless as well.
The others don't need to have their confidence shattered in the west.
