How can we make sure Tony and co don't do another McCartin/billings bulls***??
It's clear that those 3 above are going to be guns. Look ogs and lupioskoujs are just tall drinks of water.
We have all the talls WE NEED CLASS MIDS.

Re: 2018 DRAFT - DONT STUFF THIS UP
Trade Dunstan, Newnes
Why?
They have currency. There is a kid called Bailey Smith. He is Joel Selwood (without the whinging)
We should be all over this Kid. He is our next centreman.
Dunstan has currency Newnes has currency.
Use them to either get back into round2 OR get J. Kelly
Time.to do some shuffling.
Be sneaky.

Is this the same Bailey Smith that had the following stats last year in 11 games for Sandy Dragons?
Score: 0.2
Disposals 266 @ 76%, but 152 kicks @ 72 and 104 handballs at 82%
Marks 48 @ 83% uncontested
42 Frees For (so free disposals) and 10 Frees Against

Re: 2018 DRAFT - DONT STUFF THIS UP
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-03/u ... tes-for-sa
SOUTH Australian Jack Lukosius starred for South Australian in the opening game of the NAB AFL Under Championships in Adelaide on Sunday, showing why he could be taken at No.1 in this year's NAB AFL Draft.
The precocious talent booted four goals, took 14 marks and gathered 17 disposals in his side's 89-point thrashing of Western Australia.
South Australian captain Luke Valente was instrumental for his side, particularly in the first half. He finished with 26 disposals, seven clearances, five inside 50s and a goal.
Jackson Hately was the other dominant midfielder for the Croweaters.
The 190cm Hately racked up 28 touches, laid six tackles, and had 10 clearances, five inside 50s and a goal.
Ben Jarvis (17 disposals and three goals) proved a handful, while Izak Rankine (14 possessions and a goal) showed glimpses of brilliance.
Ruckman Luke Jackson was clearly the best for Western Australia, and his second efforts and follow-up work were a real highlight.
Jackson finished with 29 hit-outs, 15 touches and five clearances.
Luke English (25 disposals, six tackles, five clearances, seven inside 50s and a goal) and Damon Greaves (23 possessions and three rebound 50s) were also good for the Black Swans.
The U18 Championships continue next week, with the Allies hosting Vic Country and Spotless Stadium on Saturday, before Western Australia welcomes Vic Metro to Optus Stadium on Sunday.
South Australia 5.3 9.4 14.8 19.10 (124)
Western Australia 1.1 3.3 5.4 5.5 (35)

well these are early calls before the championships... it also seems that Jackson Hately is having probably the best season of all of them so far in the SANFL and dominated again SA v WA yesterday... is he in your mix?SMS wrote: ↑Sun 03 Jun 2018 1:20pm We will have most likely pick 3

Not sure Dunstan or Newnes have a heap of currency. Dunstan lacks that bit of pace and his kicking skills are below average and he never seems to play a couple of good ones in a row. Newnes is a bit quicker and can kick a few goals but I think he has improvement in him. He would go better at another club. I would'nt trade him though, he has got just the right amount of games under his belt for the young saints side.

Re: 2018 DRAFT - DONT STUFF THIS UP
dunstan played 6 very good games in a row to end last year, and after missing the first two this year just go and have a look at our sites votes per games. 6 out of 7 games then got injured during game 8 (10 round) - 3 of those he picked up maximum votes. he is far and away better performed than newnes over their last twenty odd games. as for improvement - newnes is 25 played 124 games. dunstan is 23 and played 77. Both have kicked 40 goals.chico2001 wrote: ↑Mon 04 Jun 2018 1:42am Not sure Dunstan or Newnes have a heap of currency. "NEXT ROOEY THE NEXT NO.1 PICK
JON RALPH reports ...
NICK Riewoldt clone Jack Lukosius has been declared the best junior prospect in 15 years after another stunning display at the weekend.
As clubs begin to assess their likely draft positions, recruiters have South Australian Lukosius, 17, the clear No.1 pick.
The 194cm centre half-forward gave them another reminder with 159 ranking points, 17 disposals, 14 marks, four goals and five inside-50 marks for SA in the national championships.
He kicked four goals in his senior SANFL debut in a preliminary final for Woodville-West Torrens last year, and is equally capable on a wing or at centre half-back.
AFL talent manager Kevin Sheehan said yesterday Lukosius was “special with a capital S”, similar to Riewoldt but with a more fluent kicking action.
One AFL recruiter said yesterday the 194cm key-position player, 18 in August, was a once-in-a-generation player.
“He is the best I have seen in 15 years,” he said.
“We saw in a trial early on in the year he played as a key defender, then at halftime put him to the wing and he was just as dominant. He plays senior footy for the Eagles as a key forward. There is so much upside to his game.”
Carlton, Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast are all chances to have the No. 1 pick."
Obviously Ralph doesn't think we will win the wooden spoon.

Lukosius will be gone at 1 from that article so not an option for us but who wouldn't want a roo clone. Get him and give him #12. Need a mid so the king boys are out of contention as well. From limited research Walsh is the best and safest so far but months to go yet. Either way we picked a good year to suck

Re: 2018 DRAFT - DONT STUFF THIS UP
We are very likely to finish last.
We have a tougher run home and both Carlton and Brisbane are also not far from victories.
At some stage we will play in a game that will be dubbed The Lukosius Cup!

desert saint, your quoting last year as very good. THis is 2018 ...Dunstan cant kick and he is too slow, forget about getting votes from his own club that's like dancing with your sister. He is ranked 150th player in the league based on performance which in my view is generous and ahead of only Geary, hickey and a couple of recruits. . He has kicked 4 goals this year. Cant recall him playing 2 good games in a row this year, your dreaming. Check out his kicking accuracy and penetration. At least we know that Newnes can kick 4/5 goals and he can kick over 40 metres....Dunstan cant. So where is the upside?

here - go and compare them yourself given your own eyes must have betrayed you during the games.

Re: 2018 DRAFT - DONT STUFF THIS UP
Here's how I see things going:
Gold Coast go deep into the tank to ensure they get max value out of losing Lynch. They don't win a game for the rest of the year. They won't be able to outtank Carlton though, who wind up on 2 wins. Brisbane will win enough games to pass them and we'll get a few meaningless wins in the back end of the season to finish 15th. So we'll be the fifth live selection, with the ability to drop down as low as seventh depending on what happens with Blakey and Thomas.
Carlton take Lukosius. Gold Coast take both King twins. Brisbane takes Walsh which would then leave us with our pick of the rest. Except instead we trade our pick to Adelaide, which excites Saintsational until they realise we only get one of their first round picks, plus a second round pick this year and a third next year. We then pass over a popular midfield selection to take a guy who plays half back for one of the Vic teams at the U18 Championships. Saintsational will then be briefly unavailable because of too many users.

Good stat comparison. Newnes has almost 50 games more experience & looks to hahe more run than Luke
while luke has equalled Newneses goal tally as a 23 year old.
More experience could bring the reward all are hoping for. but then again

Re: 2018 DRAFT - DONT STUFF THIS UP
I am worried we will start winning games now when it will be the worst thing to do. Carlton is worse than us but they have the Curnow boys who can almost win them a game but I don't see them winning 2 more than use from here on out. so they will finish below us. Same with Brisbane. May win a couple more games but so will we. Gold coast have a game and a half on us so we will need to win 2 more than them in the run home which is possible but unlikely.
PIck 3 for me
