Votes v Blues
Most enjoyable.
5. Jack Steven. The gun player on the ground.
4. Jack Billings. Still got the yips, but again dominated this mob.
3.Tom Hickey. Yes their ruckman went down early, but it was great to see our big man win all around the ground.
2. Rowan Marshall. Good contested mark. Smart player, fed out some impressive handballs.
1. Jack Steele. Cripps is brilliant of course, but Jack worked very hard all night. Got a lot of it, and strong tackles.
Many other contributors. I liked Rice. Webster very good early, hope injury is minor. Sinclair worked into the game. Membrey a good target. Newnes had one of his better games for the season. I have probably missed a few others.

I have a feeling someone's going to be a bit grumpy with you.
Anyhoo...
5. Billings
4. Steven
3. Steele
2. Savage
1. Rice
Membrey good - kicked 3 and I think had 2 posters. Sincs created good dash and some nice scoring opportunities. Dunstan and Gresh competed well. Gears led well with his attack at the contest and apart from a clanger late in junk time he also had a good game

Re: Votes v Blues
Not grumpy - but unless it is edited - I cannot count the votes as there is no clear indicator of who they mean. I just try and interpret what people are saying - it is so much better now that people aren't making up their own nicknames anymore.
If I had to guess:
5. Jack Steven
4. Jack Steele
3. Jack Billings
2. Jack Sinclair
1. Bailey Rice

Re: Votes v Blues
I found the coaches votes quite interesting. I'd love to know if it was our coach that gave Jack Billings the low vote, and the opposition coach gave him the high votes or if it was the other way around. Would even go so far as to say that Richo does not see the game as well as other opposition coaches because he sits on the pine at ground level all game. I reckon Bolt's gave Billings 5 and Cripps 3, where as Richo gave Cripps 5 and Billings only 2.

Re: Votes v Blues
Not sure what the Cripps/Billings comparison suggests. I agree with the coach that gave Cripps more votes than Jack (of either persuasion), but also that JB (and JS) deserves votes. That an opposition coach gives more votes to a player than his own coach when they have lost is similar to the pundits who say the best player cannot come from the losing team.

Re: Votes v Blues
Do you think Richo saw the full replay before submitting his votes? As I said, I don't reckon he sees the play as well from where he sits. Did Richo go by a few high flying marks that Cripps took and people tend to notice guys that get a few free kicks (Cripps had 4 paid to him and 2 against - Billings only got 1 for). Take all the media voices away and let's just focus on observing the play out there on the footy field and I'd think you'd find that Billings stats and consistency for the 4 quarters would be equal to if not better than Cripps. Obviously the votes are subjective and everyone perceives impact and influence on a game slightly differently, but the actual stats don't lie. Billings was involved in a lot of our goals and had a whopping 9 x i50's (Cripps had 3 x i50's). Bolton actually forgot about the commentary and hype surrounding Cripps and just voted on the best player on the ground.

Re: Votes v Blues
Had another look at the replay and finding it hard to pick a clear 5..everyone chipped in here and there to do their bit- in other words a good team effort.
5. Steven ( seemed our most consistent)
4. Sinclair (did lots of smart things)
3. Membrey (quality forward effort)
2. Billings (did plenty of good work, but defensively let his man run off him too easy)- (i reckon it was Richo who only gave him 2 votes due to that)
1. Hickey/ Lonie (little one percenters defensively and offensively here all game that helped set up plays)
