Those Responsible.
The side that beat us in our last GF looks ready to have another crack at a flag and where are we ? The only side worse than us are still paying for the decades of cheating and rorting but what is our excuse ? We have been poorly managed .
If the Saints were a commercial enterprise the shareholders would have made sure these people were shown the door a long time ago.
Could someone at the next AGM please ask the Board and coaching staff why they believe they should remain in office given the results of the last 8 years.
PS Moved interstate and no longer a member.

Don't forget that Collingwood were also good in 2011 and 2012.
They then didn't finish lower than 12th.

Re: Those Responsible.
As I have posted before, Greg "Wasteaway" and the Footy First movement was the biggest disaster to ever hit the Saints.
Skated in to power when we were a force and then oversaw our destruction. Also fff-up his own business at the same time to make it two disasters at once.
The guy was all talk ("Right") and promises and no actual delivery.

Re: Those Responsible.
Horses' birthday is getting close so there will be announcements about assistants staying or going in the next week or so. Will be interesting to find out if any of them are anointed as responsible for some of our shortcomings. I expect several Board members will decide to spend more time with their families in the coming months as well. Now we are cannon fodder it is not as prestigious a sinecure as it was when we were finalists. You know I think in terms of goals kicked we have only won 3 first quarters so far this year, first two rds vs Lions and Nth then R17 Carlton. Who is responsible for getting the players to turn up at the start when the heat is on. Those people.....!

Re: Those Responsible.
so true, I wonder if any of these people feel responsible for the terrible position we are in....haven't seen a show of hands. Which is why I hope that at the AGM they are taken to task.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Sun 22 Jul 2018 2:47pm Horses' birthday is getting close so there will be announcements about assistants staying or going in the next week or so. Re: Those Responsible.
We're going just fine. It's the players skill level and confidence and our losses are in no way related to the head coach. If Paddy and Billings had kicked their set shots we'd have won heaps more matches. Their bad kicking is apparantly related to our recruiting so we've sacked the head recruiter. Every other aspect of the footy departmant is tracking well.
No-one is asking the Saints CEO and President whether they'll extend Richo's contract are they? They were smart and got on the front foot because they knew if they didn't sign him up last year that the media would've hounded the club every day in 2018 and we didn't need that distraction.
Of course it was going to be a difficult few years. We lost Jason Blake, Steven Milne, Clint Jones, James Gwilt, Kosi, Gramm, Chips and a few others way too early in my opinion. Maybe we should have kept them going for some senior on field leadership...and not forgetting the retirement of Michael Gardiner
Oh...one other thing for you Firey; You should team up with that other bloke who wasn't a Saints member and join his ticket
btw. the above is all sarcasm

Yes and no.
A few of the same old same old on the board have been there long enough. Eg Andrew Thompson. Nice guy but might be time for a fresh approach.

Re: Those Responsible.
I'm pretty sure the club is a bit like a commercial enterprise, difference is it's the members not the shareholders who vote for the board of directors. The directors have a responsibility to represent the members in all matters. The Board is responsible for appointing the CEO and ultimately for appointing all of the roles at the club including the coaching staff. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 22 Jul 2018 9:35am The side that beat us in our last GF looks ready to have another crack at a flag and where are we ? Fact is if any of us members are not happy with the direction of the club, we have a constitutional right to nominate our own people to run as directors. It sounds easy enough, but I'd imagine it's a tough gig being on the board. Really, disgruntled members should put up or shut up, and non members should sign up a membership or sod off.
