Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Thanks Pres.
Best wishes to the Mrs.
Ok ok I will elaborate.
Obviously we need to get ourselves in to the second round of the draft somehow.
I dont think we have anyone tradeable who can get us a top 20 pick.
The Eagles have pick 22. Would they pay pick 22 for Acres? Possibly.
What other currency do we have to get back in that 2nd round?
Some have suggested Weller, Armo and Gilbo to GC. Would that get us pick 25? Probably not. We would have to give up more.
The point of the thread is to raise discussion of how we can get back in to the 2nd round of the draft.
Pick 21 to Port for Dunstan? Possible.

Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Gilbo is finished, but Weller and Armo might snag it.
They are deaperate for players who want to stay up there.
Even if we gave next years 3rd rounder with it or something.

Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Yeah I'm not interested in Acres trade value when he is exactly the type of player we need on the list. Pick 22 would be madness.
Open to most others though, Gresham looks too good to trade.

Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Had Acres not got injured he would’ve torn it up this year.
If ever I’ve seen a gun in the making it’s him by a mile.
Acres, Long & Gresh our all our future. Be nice to see them play together next year.
I wouldn’t trade Acres for a top 10 pick, unless of course he is desperate to leave us.
A suite of new assistants should dampen the desire to leave our club I hope.

Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Good thread
Sensible thread
Will be howled down by blue sky brigade who want every player to ever play for saints to stay....but somehow see us magically bring in new talent offering nothing...
Anyhoo
Armo/Weller and next years 3rd possible
Dunstan or Ross - not against exploring options at all
Gilbert - steak knives possibility
I’d keep Lockett for now....he could be something...

WTF???!
Buy!! Buy!!!!!
Surely no one would pay pick 21 for Dunstan? That would be extraordinary.

Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Ok idea but our players aren't worth the picks you are mentioning. We may package 2 players for one second round draft pick but I doubt that will get many offers. We will have to lose some of our best players for a round two pick and I don't think we will take the risk.

Isn't that roughly what Geelong paid for Stanley?

Re: Gold Coast pick 25
Acres just needs to be given the midfield for the whole season next year, and I've said it before, let Steele off the leash too with Ross doing some inside work
St. Kilda Football Club. Going strong, since 1960
