Longmire
Is he the reason the Swans have failed to reach ultimate success for past 6 years. Their recruitment seems to be good.
Or should they just be happy to be making finals.

Re: Longmire
Sydney are getting old, they have no depth and Buddy struggles in finals, he lacks energy. Is that Jacinta's fault ?
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Longmire
You can't.
But as a coach, your true worth and ability is on display not when you have half a dozen legends at their peak - but when you don't.

But the head coach position at a club like ours is not overrated?rodgerfox wrote: ↑Sat 08 Sep 2018 10:56pmI think he is. Absolutely.

Re: Longmire
I posted this in the "Hannebery" thread:
" ... if we replace Richo with Longmire I will be seriously pissed off
He's an average coach of a fairly talented team
The GWS midfield are killing the Swans midfield
Hmmmm what to do .... ?
Move Franklin to on ball or at least up the ground !!
But he's too stupid to even consider it !
So their best player sits deep in the forward 50 doing nothing
Longmire is a dumbass"
He relies on his best players
He has no plan B

Re: Longmire
It's a really good question, and I'm happy to debate it. I actually don't think it's black and white.Cairnsman wrote: ↑Sat 08 Sep 2018 11:13pmBut the head coach position at a club like ours is not overrated?rodgerfox wrote: ↑Sat 08 Sep 2018 10:56pmI think he is. Absolutely.
It's late and I'm drunk, so I'll respond tomorrow. Genuinely good question IMO.

Re: Longmire
Pass him onto St kilda and pursue a newer version.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Re: Longmire
You don't. You find a sucker to take em off your hands so you can bring in an uncooked one.
Now which club would be silly enough to assist?

Our only premiership coach the great Alan Jeaans once said
Footballers are like sausages you can fry them boil them or bake? them .. but in the end they are all sausages.... so I suppose they all get cooked one way or another

But it was an elimination final so no 2nd chance
If he was played injured then that's a stupid decision
He still had to try something to change it around
Still a dumbass coach
