Yes.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Should we chase Kelly?

Should we chase parked cars?

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
GWS can let Shiel go as good as he is his role can be replaced.
Scully is unique as he is IMO from watching him closely without peer in the running stakes. Easily the best two way and transition runner in the league.
He is a modern day Robert Harvey with his work rate.
He’s a little older but would still require Shiel type money to attract him to Saints.
I’d go Kelly, Scully, Coniglio, Whitfield, Shiel in that order with no offense to Cal Ward.
I’m dirty we weren’t interested in Setterfield, Carlton laughing with him at a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He will be a jet in two years time.

And that Ladies and Gentlemen is why in 5 years time we will still be languishing as other teams pass us by.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Wed 10 Oct 2018 4:01pm

The more I look at it - 2000 was the only draft/trade period we have 'won' and we even tried to f@rk that one up.
2009 and 2010 was as a result of Nick Reiwoldt being a once in a generation player. We are truly f@rked - but I will keep paying my money!
Others see the same thing as Joffa and pick North Melbourne/Essendon etc to go rather than us - because we have no clue.
I also agree with the angst regarding Hickey - not for the loss of Hickey - for the total lack of direction the club has. Who is mentoring the current crop of players - it should be the older players such as Roughy et al - but oops - we don't have any - we traded the IP that King and Gardiner would have passed to the junior ruckmen away etc...... We have had to import mentorship in the form of Hanners - and watch us pay overs for that.

Yeah no issue getting him, but just trying to point out that 8 years is silly for his age.

Would be great to get him, but I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
I'd throw everything at Whitfield next year. He looks at good as any of them to me, maybe except Kelly (I'd love Kelly but think he's North bound).Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Wed 10 Oct 2018 4:01pm GWS can let Shiel go as good as he is his role can be replaced.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
I'm saying have a crack at Kelly end of next year. 7-8 @ 1.3-5 million a year.
Scully would be worth a crack this year though. 5 year deal @800k - 1mil.

2.10pm on The Age ....
Saints sound out Scully
St Kilda list manage James Gallagher has just told Macquarie Sport Radio:
“We have sounded out his management. I think Tom would be an absolutely perfect fit for us [St Kilda]. It’s been well documented we lack a bit of real outside run … add to that his finishing ablility and overall ability as a footballer and I think that he’d be an outstanding fit.
“Having said that, Tom has made it pretty clear to his management that there’s only a couple of clubs that he’d be interested in going to and it’s in his opinion those that are closest to a premiership, that’s okay, but if that changes we’d certainly be open to having a conversation with Tom."

Not interested in us...yet. Guess it also maybe depends on how this Wingard and Burton trade goes.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
Sadly, even if the Hawks can't get Scully across the line, we are still no chance with him. He wants to play for a club that has a decent chance at a premiership. In his mind we are not one of those clubs. He's right of course. Depressingly so.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Fri 12 Oct 2018 2:50pm Not interested in us...yet. Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
Don't be depressed. Not there right now but we will become a top 8 side again.
Fair enough with Scully. He tried at GWS and is now 28 I think. He might have only have 4 years left.

Yeah another 5 year plan starting from 2019. In the meantime, the gap is as wide as it has ever been.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Fri 12 Oct 2018 8:29pm Don't be depressed. Not there right now but we will become a top 8 side again.
