Done this year fo trying to land a big name. Go hard next year at someone like Kelly if we still need a mid. This year we may finally turns things around and get a decent midfield together which will swithc our focus to ruck/KDP

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
If we offer Hannebery 4 years with potentially an additional one, we should offer Scully a 6 + 2 year deal.
Scully is still the best runner in the league whilst as good as Hannebery has been, he can’t run out of sight on a dark night.

The gap is not as wide as some would think.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
Seems to be with the Saints, that we look at never-ending rebuilds, while the successful clubs look at playing finals and getting premierships next season no matter what. A rebuild is good to a certain extent, but a club needs great development and great coaching, and that's where we have fallen down over the last 5 or 6 years.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
Scully only wanted to a current finals side in Melbourne. Apparantly bought property in the Sth East.
Club said they were very keen for him though if he changes his mind.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
One can hope so...BUT for example if the Hawks who were I was hoping would slide land both of Scully and Wingard then they will be improving rather than going backwards. If they land those two it does not matter if they do not get in any good young talent.
Tigers have gained Lynch.
Dees are adding depth and with Prues are now covered if Gawn gets injured.
Lions are doing very well to add to what was already promising group.
Saints will need desperately to have a large number of our youth show major improvement or we will be chasing tail.
Hannas is a nice pickip for what we paid, but we also need to land a star and have so far come up empty handed. I am hoping we can get Rankine at our pick.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
Yeah, of course.
We have a ton of good youth on our list. They need to step up again. Alot are starting to hit the right age bracket. Hopefully Ratten and Hannerbrey will demand more from them and get them better. That is the plan.
Hannerbrey and Kent are good ins.
We will draft a gun at 4.
We might still get a player or two.

What an inspiring way to attract the interest of a star player.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 13 Oct 2018 9:12am Scully only wanted to a current finals side in Melbourne. Apparantly bought property in the Sth East.

Funny, wasn’t that club’s attitude last year, after we didn’t get Kelly?DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Fri 12 Oct 2018 10:31pm Done this year fo trying to land a big name. I would have previously thought Scully was gettable, but the club may have already blown the pitch.

Yeah... also, "Hey, mate, we're building a growing top 4 threat. The Hawks are old and will drop precipitously. We'll give you 5 years and ... while we can't say too much... we're not done yet"SydneySainter wrote: ↑Sat 13 Oct 2018 9:57amWhat an inspiring way to attract the interest of a star player.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 13 Oct 2018 9:12am Scully only wanted to a current finals side in Melbourne. Who cares!
You've made your point in inumerable posts joffa...about time to give it a rest.
Your constant hectoring of ted/parkey is becoming tiresome!!
I actually quite like his positivity...it makes for a pleasant counterpoint to some of the doom and gloom on this site!
Extra! Extra! Read all about it......no I don't want to read about it anymore!!!

Don’t you just love his calls on who is and isn’t a “ real saints supporter”, what ever that means. Like he should be the judge of that.

Re: Shiel Gone... Should We Chase Scully
Why do so many threads on this forum end as this has with posters disparaging each other?
Getting Scully a good idea. He wants to go to the Hawks or another high-achieving team. Will get there and for not much. St Kilda issues belated press release saying “ Hey if you change your mind...”
End of story unless you want to whinge about the utter pointlessness of the press release, clearly directed more to disgruntled Saints supporters than Scully.

I find Ted hilarious and love his input, the fake ITK whispers, the constant parkey denial, the rose colored glasses, the way he stays in character its gold, bordering on comedy genius.
It’s Ted that is winding us up, not the other way around.
