our team with players in best position

Where I reckon they play best, and therefore our needs:

Back Pockets: Geary, White , Rice, Webster

Half Backs : D/Mac, Roberton, Savage, Coffield, Newnes, Paton, Langlands

Key Backs: Carlisle, Austin, Brown, Clavarino

Ruck: Pierce, Longer

Wing: Sinclair, Billings, Acres, Clark

Centre: Ross, Dunstan, Armitage, Steele

Rovers: Steven, Gresham, Phillips, Hanneberry

Small forwards: , Long, Kent, Lonie, Weller, ? Amon(P.A)

Key Forwards: McCartin, Marshall, Bruce

Medium Forwards: Membrey, Battle

Of the half backs, maybe Coffield and Paton can move into the midfield.
The Ruck looks really poor
Our wingers need to be superfit with the 6/6/6 formation
Gresham and Steven are our best clearance with pace players, would love them in the starting mids

If Newnes can't win a spot at HB....let's trade him, likewise Armo and Dunstan.

Keep Bruce, athletic tall forwards are hard to find. Cannot rely on Paddy (at all)

Prefer 2 quick midfielders in the draft. Smith and Caldwell? if we got 6 and 10

Looking at the midfield- all I can see is slow, Steven excepted. Dunstan, Ross, Sinclair, Armo and even Clark. Longer has the speed of slow drying cement. All one-paced runners, and this is why we need to bring in some burst speed in the midfield. Can't see an easy fix to this in the short term.

I left out Steele as pointed out above, he is pretty quick.
We need Gresham in their for pace, and hopefully Coffield comes on, he has seem real pace.

Hence the stupidity in recruiting Hanneberry on a 5 year deal. He is slow now, I dread to think what he'll be like in 3 years time- if he isn't retired or delisted
