Have never felt less interested in footy..... or in St Kilda. A season like 2018 tends to have that effect. Round one is over five months away..... believe me, I for one, am happy to wait.

With the product we delivered this year, every game we get on TV in 2019 will be a bonus.
Have to admit it was tough watching every game and getting well beaten in most of them this year, especially when friends ring you up to say."I switched that crap off"
A few highlights but not many. Glad Gresham was playing.
So given the Weagles play away in Rd 1 I assume that game will involve the unfurling of their premiership flag? That game over there this year was so frustrating we played with spirit then completely choked...

maybe they were one of the teams not happy with fixture- and wanted to play a 'Bigger' Team instead of a dead cert?
Can count on one thing, the saints will not get a look in for the big televised games including Friday nights. Probably get the Sunday slot. Not good when you are fighting to get off the bottom of the ladder. Will have to cause a few upsets and get at least 8 wins to get back into a couple of good slots in 2020

don't worry - no money left for anyone anyway with the Pies- another ' blockbuster- Easter Thurs although they do have to go to Brisbane to do it
and someone still to get Good Friday- Bombers or Tigers who also need to cash
The announcement comes less than a week after the Saints replaced the Suns as Port Adelaide’s opponent next year for the now annual game in Shanghai.
.
But it means the Saints will endure a tough schedule going in June, facing the Power in China in Round 11 then the Suns in Townsville a fortnight later. The Saints hope their Round 12 bye will help “cushion” the travel between both fixtures.
The Townsville game comes after the Suns’ venture into Cairns over recent years, playing several games against both the Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne
The delay is no doubt because the AFL are bending over backwards to appease one of the big clubs complaining they only have 5 Fri night games or have to travel interstate 5 times instead of 4.
Once again the fixture will just be a fix-up!
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
I haven't seen the new draw Curly, but it was indicated that sides that finished lower on the ladder in 2018 will play each other twice in 2019 and probably top 4 or 5 once. Hence the importance of winning games and not accepting mediocrity in anything we do because that keeps you low on the ladder and you will get the raw deal from the AFL.
But you cant blame the AFL, that is a cop out, this is the clubs fault for poor leadership over the years. Must win games ,no excuses.

Collingwood got a AFL approved easy draw this season which includes the bottom 4 twice plus the no trip to WC Skilled Tassie or anywhere else its hard to win.

Actually all Saints games are on TV.
Yep. might as well trade in the membership for a Foxtel subscription. It is one or the other. When you add up China, Interstate trips and Sunday 4.40 games there is not much left worthwhile parting with the hard earnt.
can't blame the afl?
can you think of any of top line sporting comp that begins every season with the same two teams? that rigs a draw to benefit a few big clubs knowingly harming the smaller clubs both short term and long term? that sends one club to china as an away team that is given all the publicity and an easy few rounds to resettle afterwards, whilst the smaller home team travels to townsville in it's next game? that manufactures a supposedly fairer draw based on ladder position, but then sacrifices that ideal to allow flexibility in scheduling big clubs when they want? that reward a team that indulged in drug use on a scale unseen in the history of oz sport by awarding them yet another marquee game - one that was supposedly slotted for the few clubs yet to have one?
a comp that forced small teams to carry the burden of paying off a stadium whilst granting others the right to play more than half their games at the mcg - the home of basically all victorian finals and the gf. again knowingly severely hurting that club on and off the field over the short and long term. i could go on, as we all know. so yes - blame the afl. they deliberately chose to go down that path, forfeiting any claim to be acting in the interest of certain clubs. we are the permeate in the afl's cash cow. a tainted product.
it is the most corrupt and manufactured sporting comp outside of the wwe. it makes it very hard to care. if i didn't have the existing emotional attachment to the saints i'd turn off completely.

So we finish bottom four and are supposed to get a easy draw. West Coast in Perth Round 2 should see us off to a flier. AFL are cheating corrupt dogs.
Round 1 GC at home.
Yep AFL really screwing us.
