Re: God it's depressing reading this forum
Same group of miserable moaners who find a negative in anything and everything related to our club and choose to go on ad nauseam attacks against club employees and other forum members. It's not that hard to have a civil discussion with others.

Been saying it for weeks.
E.g. Posters making uber negative comments on every player we have drafted (besides King) have never watched any of these players even play I bet.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Not of all them, but I trust the recruiters who actually do this for living more than a negative poster on here talking BS.

No idea who you're on about. Heard that a couple times. I thought I was getting referred to that Parkor game played in France. Strange. Wrong poster sorry.

...I mean, to be fair, the club has significantly underperformed on nearly every metric, including drafting.
Only fair that they be given scrutiny.
Jesus - it's our club, not theirs.

The problem with that theory is that you end up drafting Brad Howard and Nicholas Winmar in an attempt to 'game' the system, which is becoming our hallmark.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Fri 23 Nov 2018 2:50pm Not of all them, but I trust the recruiters who actually do this for living more than a negative poster on here talking BS.

Is it though?
Since the trade period I would say by large the negativity has died down outside of a debate about Max King, which to be honest outside of list manager... even the most pro get a mid posters are at least willing to give the kid a go

It was stated in the footy media a few times this year that outside of the top 15, the remaining pool of players were very evenly rated in this draft. We can only hope that we have grabbed another Sam Fisher (mature age, 22 years old from South Australia, pick 56).

“Apparantly” your spelling (and autocorrect) isn’t great, perhaps you were actually Parkorsainter all along and we were all just getting it wrongtedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Fri 23 Nov 2018 2:55pm No idea who you're on about. Re: God it's depressing reading this forum
Conversely, a civil and intelligent discussion without all the sycyphantic blue sky brigade tyre pumping crap would also be great. Accept that we are down the bottom of the ladder because of certain incompetence with our recent draft history and there are absolutely no guarantees with any of these young blokes.
I heard Lethers again today talk about Max King and Jack Bytel being stars for the Saints and playing alongside each other for the next ten years. Why does he need to say that? Don't patronise the fans and don't try and predict the future FFS.
How about just letting the young draftees ease into their AFL life and earn their spots with both Sandringham and the seniors. I want these young guys to let their actions do the talking. Next thing you know we'll be hearing what a ripper star they are going to be.

Re: God it's depressing reading this forum
Not sure what sycyphantic is, but without the blue sky brigade how could there possibly be an intelligent discussion? Maybe civil but certainly not intelligent. Lethers was only saying the same thing about their draftees that all the other clubs say, year upon year. Nothing wrong with that.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 23 Nov 2018 4:04pmConversely, a civil and intelligent discussion without all the sycyphantic blue sky brigade tyre pumping crap would also be great. I understand it's Hard to be super positive after such a bad year... But if you can't get a little excited about King at pick 4, it's time to have a good hard look at yourself!

Re: God it's depressing reading this forum
I really don't get excited about 18 year olds that we draft. Never have and never will. If we got Gaff or Fyfe or Kelly or Martin, I'd definitely be over the moon
Happy with King as a recruit in isolation, but a lot Saints members want some big picture planning. If 2019 is another bottom 4 finish, does that mean that they openly declare a full rebuild. I don't mind if I don't see Max play a single game in 2019 if his development is on track. I don't care what he does in the next 2 years really because I think that his true value as a player will only be realised after he bulks up a bit and improves his endurance.
We aren't going to accidently catapult up the ladder because of this years recruits. I don't know if going for the mature agers is the best course of action either and especially with the go home factor playing a part, but happy to keep an open mind on that. Would be surprised if anyone thought that King and Bytel will make a huge impact in 2019-2020.
