Personal health is most important but let's hope these little hiccups they went through prove to be ok. Good luck Paddy and Robbo. All Saints fans are behind you.

St Kilda pair Dylan Roberton and Paddy McCartin, who had health concerns that put them in hospital on Sunday night, remarkably remain hopeful that they could play round one of the season.
Fantasticdadoodle news!

Patrick McCartin may not play in the AFL again, according to Tom Morris.
The Sportsday newsbreaker said the St Kilda young gun was weighing up the risk in playing on after he suffered yet another concussion against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday during the pre-season.
“The club will vehemently deny this, but my information is that he is strongly considering his future in the game,” Morris said.
Posted it in the other thread as well. Don't know who Tom Morris is and never heard of The Sportsday

Really quite disturbing news. Tom Morris isn’t your typical ‘hack’ journo. He would have sources as he used to work for the club.
Roberton sounds like he may be line ball as well.
Players health is key here but disasterous for the club
So club employees that might be Facebook mates with him, and know his profession, would tell him something so sensitive like this.
A bit hard to believe.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

any offence is a day at your discretion
or a week at your discretion
or permanent at your discretion
are those the new new rules we are actually playing by ?
bizzare and sad behaviour ... imo
Opening post was designed to bait. A new thread was not required (as a thread existed) but was used to ensure that the bait had maximum impact. Clear breach of rules. A 24 hour holiday from posting. Can still read when banned.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)
It seems more and more likely that Robbo and Paddy have played their last games of AFL - just when they both looked in career best form.
But good to hear Jacky boy is back and raring to go.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
As much as I love having Robo in the side....he is a young man with a family and hopefully a long life ahead of him.
If playing footy is putting that in jeopardy., then he should retire.
Same with Paddy.
Terrible for the Saints, but how much worse if we tried to keep them out there.
I am not worried about Roberton as much as Paddy simply because his defibrillator didn't activate. This means his heart was beating in rhythm and didn't need correcting. From all accounts when it activates it's like being kicked in the chest by a horse so you would notice him reacting too it.
Paddy is more of a concern as he has taken too many hits to the head and if the next one causes serious damage then the club will get crucified not to mention Paddy future will be ruined. Then again he may never take a head knock again. Tough call that one
Has Paddy ever been concussed playing outside the F50?
I could be wrong, but I think his head knocks are usually when he's going up against 3 or 4 players in the forward line, when hips, knees, arms and legs are flailing about and are more likely to collect him, or when he's lunging head-first to mark a wide ball.
Maybe we should consider playing him as a tall ruck rover - outside the F50?
At least he won't be bombing the ball into the F50 (unlike a couple of our established midfielders) - he's got an accurate and penetrating low kick.
