Re: Kenty
Far from our worst today IMO, but only watching on TV.
Decent 2nd half.
I’m no fan, as a guy whose been in the system so long and has played 80 games??? should deliver consistently and Kent doesn’t, but I think you’re very harsh today guys.
Laid tackles, got the ball and had a few shots on goal.

Re: Kenty
Who was his opponent? If it was Heyne or Finlayson then he deserves to be dropped for that alone. Junk time goals made his stats look servicable but as fugazi said, he missed goals when the game was there to be won

Re: Kenty
He improved once the game was over and the pressure was off.
So far this season he has only performed when the pressure is off.
Fortunately for him Gresh probably played the worst game of his career today.

Re: Kenty
Kent consistently disappointed today, he presented in the wrong areas and he destroyed numerous opportunities.
But at least he was in the game, Long was completely unsighted and Josh Bruce was just useless.

I don’t know how they calculate AFL fantasy points but he was ranked our second best after Marshall.
Obviously a strong emphasis on missed shots when the game is effectively over.

Re: Kenty
Yes gets marked on pressure acts, shots on goal rather than high stats. He will never be a high possession player, so you need to judge him that way. He still looks not quite fit enough in my eyes. After a long time out of the game, I think he is going ok, and was certainly much better than a couple of more highly fancied team mates.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Sat 04 May 2019 6:53pm I don’t know how they calculate AFL fantasy points but he was ranked our second best after Marshall.

Re: Kenty
2.4 goals.
16 posessions (8th).
4 tackles.
A lot better than plenty of his mates today. Long and Acres were terrible.

Did nothing when the game was on though. Kicked a couple of junk time goals to pad out his stats.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 04 May 2019 7:48pm 2.4 goals.

Still a lot better than a lot of his mates today. Plenty of them actually.

Re: Kenty
If you are correct on assessing Kent then he was very lucky to play today, as other than the Melbourne match his pressure acts are much lower than Long, Parker & Lonie and he applies half the tackles they do and covers nowhere near their meters per game.twirlyhair wrote: ↑Sat 04 May 2019 7:42pmYes gets marked on pressure acts, shots on goal rather than high stats. I think injuries is the reason he has held his place but totally agree there were a lot worse than Kent today, he would have been in our top 8, though we were very poor across the ground.

Not remotely a Kent fan but agree he was in our top 8 - 10 today, particularly in the 2nd half.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 04 May 2019 8:33pm Still a lot better than a lot of his mates today. Plenty of them actually.

Re: Kenty
No Ted, IMO Kent is not of a consistent AFL standard player, he’s show that in 8 years as a fringe player at Melbourne and 7 games at Saints.
He’s capable of good games but does not consistently produce and watching him live & stats show he is not high in pressure, tackling or the old fashioned 1% ers.
I do agree that he was quite serviceable today in his 2nd best performance for the club and was a hell of a lot better than a lot of other saints today.
Sadly I cannot see us being a finals team with Kent in our best 22.
