Bennell
I know this is outrageous but given Bennell has cut ties with Freo and declared that he wants to continue his AFL career at another club, I reckon we should look at him. Reasons would be as below
- Give him a 1 year deal with that is reflective of his history hence would cost nothing in terms of salary and picks
- Everyone knows how good he was/is when fit
- If we got him fit and rehabilitated then that would make the Saints look very good from a cultural and medical point of view. We got Freeman right (to an extent) in the end, and St Kilda's medical/high performance staff are already held in very high esteem throughout the industry
- We are desperate to secure A-grade talent. IF he could get fit, then he's exactly the player we need
- There would be minimal expectation on him turning things around therefore if it fails, nothing is lost
- Most importantly, it would piss of Ro$$
Again, I know this is a million-to-1 in happening, and St Kilda has become the home for injured cast-aways however we are well overdue for some luck and we could do/have done worse...

Re: Bennell
Disagree.
The only reason to get him would be for every other club’s amusement. Oh, and to give Hanners someone to sit next to in the stands.

Re: Bennell
No one will touch him in this draft.
If he played a season in the WAFL... then maybe next year.

Bloke is a wasted talent and a d**khead. Trouble. Trouble. Trouble.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

One thing the club doesn't need is another lame duck who can't get on the field and who has off field behavioral issues.

It is very insulting for all <edited by mods> to be compared to Bennell.

Re: Bennell
With our history of fixing busted players I wouldnt go any where near him. Our recruiters last year did a great job plucking some mature aged talent from the state leagues. So lets back them in now to build a strong list without taking on other clubs casts offs, which we have a history of without sucess.

Re: Bennell
We are likely to have a long term injured player on our list in 2020, if Bennell really wants it, he can put in the hard yards over pre season in the WAFL or VFL (to prove he's not home sick), get his body right, play multiple games, stay out of the front page headlines & maybe we will look at him & can use a mid season trade.
