I never have a good feeling going to Adelaide, can’t remember the last time we won there!

Let's settle a bit. The Crows are still a pretty good side that could turn things around any minute.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

I can’t remember when we last beat Adelaide, beginning with the 87 GF
If we do, and I hope we do more than beating any other team, then Rattten ought to be installed immediately as coach until 2022

Poatina you're ten years out.
We played the crows in 1997 not 1987.
They are coping so much s*** in the media at the moment, they might come out breathing fire.

The old Saints would run a team into form.
But we're looking at Ratten's Renegades-
Take no prisoners
Smash em on thr rebound
Open up that F50
And set the goals free

They may they may not... Massive game for the crows so much to lose but the pressure is on them and we are building with lots of energy.. Boil over on the cards..

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
They were ripe for the picking in round 6 and look what happened
We dominated the first quarter but couldn't hurt them on the scoreboard 3.6 to 3.0.
They slowly got on top and ran away with the game in the end.
Back on there own dung heap where everything will be against us , I would be surprised if we won and I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting smashed.
Our interstate record since Lyon left is abysmal.
So if Ratts can get them to perform and bring home the gravy , I'd say sign him up now !

I'm hoping for a sign of improvement, we've been smashed by them for so long I can barely remember the last time we won...as far as ripe for the picking goes, that works both ways.

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
Last time we beat them was at AAMI Park in 2009.
Last win in Adelaide was against Port in 2011, again at AAMI.
We have never won at AO since the new place was built. Maybe never won there in the history of the club.

If we are with them at three quarter time, they will start to melt.
Here's hoping!

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
History is against us.
We tend not to play well interstate and we tend not to play well against Adelaide.
Ratts has got them going, but whether that translates yet to winning these sorts of games remains to be seen.
It would be our best win of the season. Here’s hoping

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
I agree with you Rubyjo, both those pressures appear all consuming. They are likely to have up to 5 changes bringing back their older players who will be under pressure to perform or mid rung players who have struggled this year.
I like Greenwood but something is amiss with him.
Douglas is honest & hard.
Gibbs is the epitome of what makes clubs go backwards.
Betts is a worry, all champions nearing the end have the ability to remind us why they are champions.
The midfields should match up well, both inside but we may have the ability to change things up a bit more. Steele has a massive role to play on Sloane.
Two young rucks going at it, will be close. Something we've not had in Adelaide for a long time.
Brown to body & cover Tex, needs to be wary of him on the 50 arc.
Carlisle just needs to not allow Off Side Jenkins to sneak in alone to his wheelhouse, the goal square.
Wilkie / Battle has a big job on Lynch but both can manage it.
Possibly the best form Bruce is in to go interstate.
Newnes has one job, Laird.
We have more unknowns than they do, a fast start is critical, not our strong suit but 6.3 will be better than 3.6 & the Crows will feel the heat of their crowd, not us.
Saints by 3 goals!

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
Our four games at the Adelaide Oval vs Adelaide have seen us lose by 57, 88, 46 & 79. Average losing margin of over 11 goals.
Our last four first quarters at the venue add up to just 3.11.

Not good reading Beno. Hoping both clubs are going in opposite directions. I want this to be our sliding doors moment, desperately!

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
They belted the crap out of us last time, when the media was yapping how good we were.
How about we go over there and play four quarters of hard footy first?

Haven’t had a decent a chance to knock off the crows over there at home for a while now.

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
Excellent observations. It would just be our luck that the Crows pull out their last decent performance of the year at home to bugger up our tilt at 8th (and then lose every game themselves thereafter to gift 8th to say, the Dullbogs).Ghost Like wrote: ↑Tue 30 Jul 2019 7:53amI agree with you Rubyjo, both those pressures appear all consuming. I like the synergy of our team at the moment - it's got a good feel to it and the thing I liked the most from the Demons win was that twice we were 19 pts behind (i.e. have to kick 4 goals ourselves to get ahead) and yet, still found a way to re-group and keep scoring. That hasn't happened for many a moon under Cho.
Go you red, black & white warriors

Re: The Crows.. Ripe for the picking
want to beat Adelaide? get behind the team, make the trip if you can and make all the noise you can. Rattle the Adelaide crowd and Crows right back like what happens at Optus. I'm waiting for a Text message, should that be what i want to read i will be dragging the family to Adelaide this weekend to do exactly that.
We may not win but with renewed belief, new coach, Adelaide struggling and this a chance to actually make the 8? why not i say.
