It's all between the ears
Who watched the bulldogs game today? What do you think of their list? Their ruck? Think they need a few more classy mids before they can make finals?
I don't think they've got an unusually genius gameplan either. I think that somehow Beveridge is getting it into their heads that they can be good enough for long enough. Ultimately that belief is what worked for Lyon - and ironically for GT too. Over and above the tactics imho. Belief that the game really can be that simple.

Re: It's all between the ears
Good point.
So many of our players have stagnated instead of improved. Some have even gone backwards.
Against Carlton some old habits re-emerged and that was disappointing.
Now I'd be happy if Ratten gets the job (certainly he's preferable to Brad Scott) but whoever it turns out to be, let's just hope he doesn't settle for anything less than total commitment.

I woyld argue that Macrae, Dunkley, Bont are the best midfield in the comp.

With some of our players I suspect that the only thing between their ears is the wind......

They have a sensational midfield.
It is forward where they have a few problems but Naughton looks good but still young so a little inconsistent.

Exactly. And it’s a midfielders game. They have elite mids ... we have Dunstan and RossBarryGrogan wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2019 7:21am I woyld argue that Macrae, Dunkley, Bont are the best midfield in the comp.

The St Kilda list that Ross Lyon inherited from Grant Thomas was vastly superior to our current list.freely wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2019 10:50pm Who watched the bulldogs game today? What do you think of their list? Their ruck? Think they need a few more classy mids before they can make finals?

And the Footscray midfield is amongst the best in the league.
And I wish we had recruited Beveridge when he was at St Kilda and we had the chance, instead we chose poorly, very poorly whilst the Dogs chose wisely.
