Realistically, we should have finished below Sydney and Carlton this year. They both have more upside for 2020.
Unless a dozen players are cut - and the right dozen - and we trade sensibly, which will mean trading out a couple of our better players, AND we get rid of the assistants who have been there too long without getting results - we will most certainly finish below both of these sides, especially Sydney.

Based on everything being taken into account, including injuries, this season, I think we did miraculously well to win nine matches, but we won't be able to do that again based on the past two weeks unless there are key changes with regards to personnel on and off-field.

The selection committee really needs to be looked at again too.

The cuts need to be deep and they should not be soft targets, like they were at the end of last season.

Here's the thing, we won 5 more games than last year and yet I don't feel we have actually improved at all.
Same problems, same deficiencies and nothing seems to have improved.

Even when they’re a bottom team, the Swans still smoke us.

Contrary to the optimistic belief, our list is pretty ordinary and won’t get much better unless some elite additions are made.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

Agreed. And again, as I said at the beginning of the season on here, we are still playing exactly the same way we played in 2015 - exactly the same. The difference is that in 2015 we had a Roo, a Joey, a Shinner and Chips in the side with a younger Armo as well.

Without guys of that calibre we're going nowhere.

When selection says to 21 players (Paton the scapegoat) that their effort against Carlton was "pleasing" & we include a player who was axed by Carlton to play his one and only game for us, ignoring young, contracted players, it was surprising scores were level at half time.

What Billings said about looking forward to a break appears to be the company line. The club selected & played the last two weeks as a club that had put the cue in the rack.

I concur
And i wouldn't be rushing to sign ratten .
Maybe he was under instructions not to lose pick 5
( if so , well done ratts!)
But once again another insipid display interstate.
His two predecessors couldn't get the team to preform away from melbourne
And his two games away have been just as shite .

every time we play them they're a bottom side, then they thrash the legs off us and start climbing the ladder.

I want the club to find who most of the players are who have played in those games and sack them on mad Monday.

We are too accepting of guys who play to the script all the time and they are paid too much to go through the motions.

Surely we wanted to finish in the bottom 6 and had Melbourne got up and we won today we wouldn’t have done. Enough said. It stood out like the proverbial today. Players were almost embarrassed kicking goals.

How lazy were some of our second efforts and tackles today? Wow - I never want to see that in a St Kilda jumper.

However, I've been told the boys are set for a massive night out in Sydney tonight. It's going to be enormous, by all accounts. VIP tables have been booked and they're going for it.

I told you it wouldn’t take long to jump off Ratten... he was the messiah 3 weeks ago?!

I’m telling you, it ain’t the coach that is the problem... since 2017 we’ve had a putrid list with a lot of injuries.

Yep a brilliant strategy. I believe we've been working towards it all season. Gotta hand it to the club - now we get the perfect draw for our premiership year!

Why didn't the other commentators interview Ben Dixon about how he has turned us into the most inaccurate club in the competition?

And why the hell do we continue to employ this brain dead idiot?

Ratten: Give him a chance, seriously no pre season yet nor any real time to change the way we play.
Lonie: Plays next year as he has potential but he better show it next year
Carlisle: silly. The guy is a gun when he wants to play, he jsut hasn't the last few weeks
Newnes: Why we offered him a contract is beyond me but from all accoutnts its for 2 years and F#@k all so its value for money
Savage: Seriously. He has been one of our more reliable players this year. Shoudl only go if taken someone betters spot
Rowe: Yeah gone
Longer: Yeah gone
Pierce: Yeah gone
Parker: Tackling machine but needs to play better. Stays
Young: Yeah gone
Rice: Yeah gone just not afl quality
McCartin: Yeah gone
Roberton: Hate to say it but gone. His family is more important than our club and can't risk him dying out there

The comment about winning 5 more games but side quality the same could be on the money.
Last year it was reported we had the hardest draw this year we had one of the easiest

Absolutely... how long have we stuck with Acres for him to output barely anything. Get rid of him and get Hill in if it's on the table.
