AFL locks in 2020 China clash
https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-09-12/ ... ghai-clash
"ST KILDA and Port Adelaide will again face off in Shanghai next year as the AFL locks in its commitment to games in China.
The League confirmed on Thursday that the fourth annual game at Jiangwan Stadium in Shanghai will take place in round 11, 2020.
The Saints and Power will head over for the game, having met at the venue this year when they beat St Kilda by 70 points."

How is this actually news? Was there ever any doubt given we have a 3 year contract to play Port in the land of Gladys Liu? https://www.saints.com.au/news/2018-10- ... pportunity

It should be a home game there for Port. We haven’t played them in Melbourne since 2013, FFS.

Indeed - that is a matter of fact. However, Gladys' heritage and political ties (despite her mislaid/forgetful protestations to the contrary) reside far further north of Chisholmkosifantutti wrote: ↑Thu 12 Sep 2019 3:28pmThe date is news. It is only exactly when it is in 2020 that is new. St Kilda had already agreed to play THREE of these games. So we also have at least 2021 to go as well.desertsaint wrote: ↑Thu 12 Sep 2019 1:45pm faark!

Yep, Saynta's right. All her fellow country men and women being Australian, they do mostly hail from the northern hemisphere. It's a fact.saynta wrote: ↑Thu 12 Sep 2019 4:05pmAs Indeed do those of a fair proportion her fellow country men and women, unfortunately.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Thu 12 Sep 2019 3:57pmIndeed - that is a matter of fact. Perhaps we could wear Amnesty International logos and commence with a "Welcome to oppression" ceremony?
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: AFL locks in 2020 China clash
We need to be strategic about this game.
I’m thinking send over a heap of young quick guys and give the core 10 best players a rest. Will mean almost 3 weeks off in the middle of season to be fresh for July.
If we win great, if not we’ll we were probably going to lose anyway.
This game killed our 2019 season and we took an age to recover. We need to become a more strategic club and not bow to the AFL pressure.

we deserve to be playing in Siberia....China is a bonus.
PS The rules of footy are a little lax in Siberia..head high tackle not paid unless head leaves body.

The game being in China is Port's Call.
The Saints are mainly there for the $$$$$ and extra exposure and probably are not that fussed if it was China, India, Japan or wherever.
