Really exciting to see these guys in 2020.

Bytel and King Kong...bookmark them now.

Mayo looks a player too. Wonder what he puts on his toast.

King is a beast, I'm just wondering how he'll be defended when he gets up and going.

Im looking forward to see Bytel next year. From all reports the kid would have been a lock fot Top 10 draft spot until he hurt his back. He obviously has some serious talent and his highlight reel is rather impressive. In a midfield crying out for talent, our fortunes could very much rest on this kids shoulders. (Dont wont to rest to much, bad back and all).
If he can step up, a full interrupted preseason from Hanners, Hill on the outside and another step up from Clark, Billings and Gresh....we may suddenly have a midfield! Throw in an improving R Marshall and it may start breaking even with some of the better midfields out there.
This isnt meant to come across as slight on Ross but we'll know we're improving when Ross becomes our fourth best midfielder, not our first.

Be happy if King plays a dozen games and Bytel gets through a full year in the VFL and debuts in the AFL and plays a few games

Saw king play at sandy and he is a fair way off. Before the hating starts he did some good things and was getting better each game. The kid glides accross the park and it looks effortless while he is sprinnting but he was also bullied out of most contests as the kid is light. He needs some weight to his frame and until he gets that he will struggle at AFL level. Let's hope the preseason fixes this to a degree but he sure has a lot of talent.

Bytel should also be given a break. A year off due to a spine injury means that everyone else is now a year ahead of him. By season end based on his highlights he should playing great footy at vfl level but don't expect to see him at AFL level before the bye if at all next year.

The other four mentioned I am not sold on yet as I have seen little of them to get excited by but a preseason with a new coach can make a world of difference

Although you can't say Ben was all that much brutalised this year really? Max will get his fair share of rough play, but I also expect him to be very good at getting the ball

And hopefully good at using it. It was one of the big disappointments with Paddy (excluding the obvious) that when he clunked a mark---and he looked great when he did---he too often missed the shot.

All of Max, Paddy, Bruce and Rowan are as reliable as a Melbourne taxi when it comes to set-shot kicking for goal. Field kicking is different and suggests that technique or confidence is where the problem lies, all of which can be worked on.

Our small forwards haven't been great at crumbing from the big blokes either, which is interesting because through 2017 (I think) they were being instructed to bring the ball to ground for those smalls  It baffles me really why this should be the case, but wouldn't we benefit most from a plan that suits our playing group as a whole?
