ok seeing how this has upset you both on this matter this will be the last comment
the bulls*** post - Longer leaving to geelong
And not once have you or ted complained(reported?) about flashing text (& once highlighted comment) and utterly derogatory comments on Hickey over the time - not once

I am certainly not upset, (when did I complain?), but amused. Longer to Geelong & Hickey? - no idea what you are talking about. What has derogatory got to do with it?

There is an easy fix Teddysainter, I’m only highlighting bulls*** in red glow.

Brilliant idea from Kosifantutti to highlight such input.
I think it will catch on.

Also good idea from sunsaint with the yellow.

With pleasure Joffa.

- Billings to Essendon #9 – done - Actually offered early by Essendon, Saints not interested, Essendon then went harder for Shiel which would
need at least pick 9, obviously Ted meant "offer was done"

- More trades to follow Hannebery & Kent - Shiel still in the air at the time, other players being looked at, so reasonable post
- Hannebery for future 2nd round pick - correct, with swap of current 2nd rounders
- Kent was in Melbournes best 22 and was set top play finals - was in ones before injury, so quite reasonable statement
- Saints to trade for Amon - very interested at one stage, but did not advance
- Shiel says no to Essendon - incorrect, although didn't say yes till last moment
- Bugg can play - opinion only, but he sure can
- Choco Williams to take role at saints - was very possible early on, partially because of the chase for Shiel
- Saints do not have a bottom 4 list - with the amount of injuries and other factors, I think correct
- In the box seat for McGovern - never in the box seat, just part of the bench with other clubs
- 75% of clubs or more would have taken paddy #1 - not correct, 3 clubs
- Hawthorn Shiels preferred destination - correct early on, confirmed by Jaxons
- We should swoop on Scrimshaw - opinion, but bearing in mind low cost, would have been a good swoop

Yes
And let's start with the first point as there was a very long thread on the matter
It was stated there was a deal done regarding Billings
For "whatever" reason it didn't happen but it was the initial post that caused the uproar which eventually caught the eye of the mod (or was brought to his attention)
Now in his words he stated he was giving information that the initial statement was correct
The trouble is if we're just playing semantics it deserves every piece of ridicule it gets
OR
If there was a deal - as stated - and it did fall through at the last minute it was never followed up with a post stating as much

I’m pretty sure you are pulling my chain takeaway, but I’ll respond.

Perception is ones reality.

- Billings to Essendon #9 – done - Actually offered early by Essendon, Saints not interested, Essendon then went harder for Shiel which would
need at least pick 9, obviously Ted meant "offer was done"

Did not write may happen, wrote DONE!
Did not eventuate and was not mentioned in any media publication. It appears only Ted knew of the deal and maybe the person who made it up on BF.

- More trades to follow Hannebery & Kent - Shiel still in the air at the time, other players being looked at, so reasonable post
Had an educated guess and was wrong
- Hannebery for future 2nd round pick - correct, with swap of current 2nd rounders
Ted was very specific trade was a straight swap for a future 2nd round pick. Thankfully we did a much better deal
- Kent was in Melbournes best 22 and was set top play finals - was in ones before injury, so quite reasonable statement
Written repeatedly as fact by Ted in many forms when it was merely his opinion. Kent was a fringe player playing 60 games in 7 seasons. 24 YO best 22 player are rarely traded for #65
- Saints to trade for Amon - very interested at one stage, but did not advance
again did not happen
- Shiel says no to Essendon - incorrect, although didn't say yes till last moment
again totally incorrect, he chose Essendon. It was 100% incorrect that he had discounted Essendon.
- Bugg can play - opinion only, but he sure can
Surprised Suns didn’t take him if he is so good given they took Miles, Horlin-Smith, Murdoch etc. I’ve watched him play NEAFL, hard at it but terrible skills.
- Choco Williams to take role at saints - was very possible early on, partially because of the chase for Shiel
again incorrect, did not eventuate.
- Saints do not have a bottom 4 list - with the amount of injuries and other factors, I think correct
hard to argue we don’t have a bottom four list while supporting the coach, that’s where we finished
- In the box seat for McGovern - never in the box seat, just part of the bench with other clubs
As I posted at the time, I sat near his manager at a lunch who told me saints had zero chance of securing McGovern, he was not interested. Neither in the box seat or the race, that was just made up by you both.
- 75% of clubs or more would have taken paddy #1 - not correct, 3 clubs
Unless you have II from clubs it’s just a guess
- Hawthorn Shiels preferred destination - correct early on, confirmed by Jaxons
looks like both were incorrect
- We should swoop on Scrimshaw - opinion, but bearing in mind low cost, would have been a good swoop Have watched Scrimshaw play NEAFL, makes Rhy Stanley look like Big Carl. Wrote at the time 5th rounder was worth.

If you genuinely believe Ted was on the money and you’re not taking the piss, please PM me as I have some cheap land next to the Opera House for sale 8-)

On Paddy, it was published somewhere years ago and posted here that it was us and one other club (unnamed) that would have taken him at #1.

The remainders all would have gone with Tractor

Agree, not fully serious Joffa, but you're not averse to doing a bit of chain pulling yourself.

Billlings to Ess was never a "deal", but I was told an offer was made with Pick 9, which was quickly rejected, so as Ted should have said, "offer is done" (and finished) Ha Ha.

Perception is one's reality. I am happy to stand by my earlier comment - most of the statements (ie more than 50%) actually true or very close.

Thanks for land offer but I am happy with my little pad in Darling Point.

I’ll file this with “we were fourth in the race for Dylan Shiel”. Nobody could possibly know this.

Will go to Frankston YCW and play with his brother in the MPNFL I reckon. I predict a league B&F if he stays on the park. He is a gun at VFL level, will rip it up in the suburbs.

May get another go.

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/axe ... 535ev.html

"Delisted Hawthorn forward Darren Minchington is set to continue training with the Hawks in a bid to extend his AFL career into a ninth season.

Minchington, who turns 26 in December, was delisted last week by Hawthorn after just one season at Waverley.
Demons get tough first round clash in 2020

The small pressure forward was let go by St Kilda at the end of 2018 after 28 senior games in seven years in which he was plagued by a string of injuries.

Picked up as a delisted free agent by the Hawks 12 months ago, Minchington again struggled to get his body right and was limited to eight VFL appearances and four goals for Box Hill.

Minchington was an emergency for the round 18 AFL game against Geelong but his hopes of a Hawthorn debut were dashed following a hamstring injury in the VFL during July.

However the Hawks have kept the door ajar for Minchington to be picked up as a rookie, with the former Saint set to train at Hawthorn when pre-season begins next month.

Hawthorn confirmed to The Age on Wednesday that Minchington had been invited to keep training.

Minchington could be picked up in the supplemental selection period if passed over in the upcoming national and rookie drafts.

Minchington was viewed as a potential long-term replacement for triple premiership player Paul Puopolo, who has re-signed for 2020.

Kaiden Brand, Teia Miles and David Mirra were also delisted earlier this month while former Greater Western Sydney defender Tim Mohr retired.

The Hawks brought in forward Jonathon Patton from the Giants and defender Sam Frost from Melbourne during the recent trade period while trading emerging ruckman Marc Pittonet to Carlton and losing Grant Birchall to the Brisbane Lions as a free agent."

Be good if Sandy picked him up - he’s an excellent VFL player. I’d give him a 3 year contract at Sandy
