We are at the wrong phase of the rebuild cycle to be gifting games to young players, you can afford to do that when you are tanking or at the start of a rebuild (those two things are arguably the same thing).....
Every time I see the nickname Secret Kiel I keep thinking of Richard Kiel (the guy that played Jaws in the James Bond movie) and not the secret keel that I think he means.
So when I see that nic I think of this guy:
When I think of Secret Kiel I think of the bloke in the middle of this picture, (not sure who the other two guys are).
Did Masten actually end up doing a medical with the club? I saw that he and Bennell were apparently scheduled but Bennell didn't in the end, and Masten hasn't been mentioned.
Maybe the club learnt from the Hannebery import and decided to conduct the medical before making a money offer.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

The claim defenders should run at 85% kicking efficiency got me thinking cause it's a figure I have never heard reached by any player at the elite level, that I can recall, (maybe someone can provide the facts and figures), in lieu of conclusive data Champion data presents as follows:
Champion data suggests goal kicking accuracy fell to historic lows over the past two seasons falling as low as 45.8% in 2019.
The biggest fall was kicks on the run at 41.8%
The kick inside 50 retention rate was 46.9%. Ten years ago it was 52% and two seasons ago it was 49.1%
I'd like to see the formula behind champion data's results but 85% would seem almost twice the current averages and it would appear a very fanciful dream.
A foot note to defender's kick accuracy, in the age of forward pressure and two way running, achieving 85% would be awesome because of the reliance of kicking efficiency to get through and over pressing zones however is arguably the hardest part of the ground to play and with player fatigue being higher than it ever has in that part of the ground also.
