Marsh Kent Lonie

Post: # 1851996Post CURLY »

All must go. Marsh playing in the middle is possibly the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

Lonie just is simply no good and if you can’t take a overhead mark you can’t play.

Kent is one sided and one dimensional

Lonie’s decision to try tap on a ball instead of taking an uncontested mark at the end of the game was baffling.

Our captain and vice captain need to be looked at also.

we've had other long standing players on the outer, like Webster, Savage, etc.
Ross and Geary can go join them, as these 2 are not part of our future.
Ross cannot break the lines or actually set up any scoring chains, except when we're on top.

Agree. But today - it became very clear that their use is marginal (at best) if there’s no specific role. We seem bereft of leadership on field when things don’t go our way. We rollover so easily ... and that’s on those two

I will say that kick from Geary was inexcusable.

I wouldn't say it's on their shoulders alone; they might be on-field leaders, but other guys have to step up and lead by example.
Skunk missing an easy shot.
Gresh may be young but he should be on the end of good play and set up goals, not getting run down, or kicking wayward.
Carlisle was unsighted after quarter time, and he's old enough to be one of the rocks of the backline.

Not sure blaming 3 blokes who played primarily in fwd line is fair. Ball hardly went in there in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The midfield was the problem

The fact they can’t do anything else but stand there is a huge problem. Sinclair Byrnes Bytel would at least get midfield minutds

Marsh, Kent and Lonie are not AFL standard. Ross hurts us more than the opposition, Geary gives his all but his all is seldom great. Let's look at Byrnes, Bytel and revisit Langlands, Roberton, and maybe Parker or even Paddy off the bench. Forget Sinclair a bit of a plodder

I agree with Marsh, he just doesnt look the type at all. Even when he took a couple of clunks last week, he looked totally surprised that he even marked the ball!

The engine room is the problem. I thought the backline held up very well considering the onslaught.

Hill is taking the piss surely, what a terrible effort. I dont want to critisize King becuase he's only really a 1st year player, but he needs to take more contested marks. I guess he will fill out over the coming years....again he's not the problem. Ross needs to go - absolutely no need for him to be in the team.
Unfortunately Long will be rubbed out, not his fault but the MRP will love to give him a couple. Marshall was terrible today. He should have dominated when Darcy went off but lost the plot.

Not sure Ross has been good at all this season.. certainly not upto a 2 time b&f standard.
He's back to wildly kicking to no one and lately introduced a over the shoulder hand pass which has actually contributed to more goals to the opposition than us.
He's not even adding pressure anymore...

Like Newnes its time to move on....

Nah. Kent and Lonie got the job done in the first qtr when the ball was forward. They weren't the issue. But yeah Marsh had three games and time for a change there. He couldn't win a contest today (not alone).

This game was lost in the midfield and no run other than Long out of defence.

Those who attempt to make political milage out of this Pandemic and its spread are beneath contempt - and it is noted that they are from one side of politics

The source of community spread is unknown as with the outbreak in Burnie where the source could not be traced - even by a Liberal State government

Those on the front line of the response including health professionals and those guarding facilities where there are infected people need our support

They represent society and are reflective of society in

If, under these circumstances you want to have a go be prepared to receive the response

As with the many who do not observe physical distancing and are placing all of us at risk

The game was lost on the chess board

We have too many one dimensional players and they are being exposed - the writing was on the wall last week when Carlton came back

Starting with Geary and Ross

It is time to see what sort of AFL footballers Bytel and Byrnes are (there is no sense going backwards)

Plus Ryder rucking and Marshall forward

Then Roberton who is class because we are short half a dozen class footballers
