So glad that Ratts is in charge. Clearly a great leader , great people person. Cares about the staff, knows them, calls them out for thanks. If I had a relative looking to play AFL, I would be very happy to put them in the care of Brett Ratten and his colleagues.

He is right - we have the respect of the footy world and that is a great start, but just the beginning.

Very excited about next season.

Not just Ratts. We've nailed all of our off field appointments over the last couple of years. Observant upward from here.

In the way a little ‘ol man is making his way up the road respected, Yes.

In the way you don’t dare jump in the pond where a hungry croc awaits, No.

I don’t think we are respected.

We are seen as good triers.

I think we are liked.

I looked at Big Footy -Richmond Thread last week. Even their fans don’t hate us. In fact they said they’d barrack for us if we won last Friday.

We are nice lil ol battlers living in that crappy ol shack down the road.

At least we have some poker machines on the porch.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

two people who were REALLY GIVEN a RAP
during the proceedings that i’ve managed to watch so far
were Roughy + Lethlean

good job lethers
good get roughy

thoughts of a structured transition already formulating
(for when Ratts gets bored with winning Premierships)

So humble: didn't point out he recognised Steele's ability and that playing a lockdown role as ordered by Richo was a waste. And TB Medal winner is.......
Other players have developed too, something the did not happen under Richo. E. G. Billings is better and better used and now a player other clubs try to cover, Ben Long is now very good and there are others of course. I am hoping Ben Patton can become a mid fielder but recognise he is a wonderful defender. It would be good if he could move up the ground and a new generation player, say, Connolly could back fill. We have plenty to be pleased about in what the speech said, how it was said so sincerely and what was not said but was implicit. I also think he is a tough dude and prepared to deliver bad news and appraisals honestly - another characteristic the former coach seemed to lack. I look forward to a lot more speeches from Ratts.

Did anyone else notice that Ratts forgot to mention Roughy in his speech.
He mentioned Rath for him coming across and helping out but unfortunately forgot Roughy?
Or did I miss it?

Geez I reckon you could mount a strong argument that Billings has gone backwards under Ratts. At best he was in a holding pattern. Did you mean to type a different name?

Very pleasing

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
