Careful Loris...
You’ll be labelled a hater
The positive is that we have a ton of midfield depth to cover any potential absence

Wish the club owned up to it earlier when he was put on reduced duties instead of having Billings come out and make up crap

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
Surely not? What’s there not to like about Hanna? Definitely not a hater. Maybe I hate how his legs continually let him down
I just wish we could get him on the park to play. He showed at the end of last season he’s still got a lot to offer, if his legs can only stand up (no pun intended).

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
I feel for the player.
Obviously came back to pre-season in good shape based on time trial and another soft tissue injury would be extremely frustrating.
Has been injury plagued since 2018, when is enough, enough?
How many replies until someone writes a name?

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
We brought in an player whose body we knew was completely shot, and now seem puzzled why his body is shot?

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
Disappointing news if true but not the end of world.
Who is puzzled exactly?
Are you referring to the club or people on here?
Most posters on here did not support the recruitment but supported the player once he joined the club.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
It’s pbly not a big deal. The frustration is that there is something every off-season.
The writing on the wall IMO is that Hanner’s body simply cannot sustain an increased workload (IMO)... and it makes sense because with soft tissue injuries, the risk of reinjury increases substantially with fatigue,
Based on Hanners return in the last round of 2020 and how he burst into the first final after the week off where he was specifically mentioned as someone that benefited from the rest to complete prep... I really hope the club adopts the model of just resting him every 2-3 week.
It’s the only way to keep him on the park and playing good footy IMO

I would appreciate it if you could please refrain from posting opinions that contain logic and rationale. It’s unbecoming of a SS poster.skeptic wrote: ↑Wed 03 Feb 2021 9:49pm It’s pbly not a big deal. The frustration is that there is something every off-season.

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
A minor calf strain isn't the end of the world. If it was his hammy id be worried.
Agree with suggestion above that resting in certain games would seem a good strategy.

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
I didn’t want to bring this up, but I obtained footage - sorry, “vision”- of a game in 2037. You know Japan and technology ...and guess, what? The AFL introduced an ‘inclusiveness’ campaign in 2029, which basically cordoned off the forward pocket for players with ‘compromised mobility’, where in a wheel chair is only permitted ...and you wouldn’t believe it. I saw Hanners, in one, in the forward pocket and goaling (nominated kicker, similar to runner in cricket) I couldn’t believe it, and so I clicked on ‘Current contract’. Turns out he negotiated, at age 44, for a 13 year contract, as a CMR. (Compromised mobility recruit) Fair enough.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
A minor calf strain in isolation is no big deal. But with his history, it doesn’t inspire confidence in his ability to stay on the park and be a significant contributor. Is there any real confidence of him even getting thru a game at this point?

Jack Steele, Brad Crouch, James Frawley, Oscar Clavarino and Shaun McKernan also on light duties. How will we cope with such a casualty list in early Feb?! Our season is doomed.
