Thoughts on Bytel’s game?
13 touches
A whopping 10 tackles (highest on the ground ahead of Steele 9 and Butler 7)
25 on the pressure acts as well which seems on the higher end of that scale from a cursory look
Gotta admit, didn’t see a ton of him and when I did, he had a tendency to kind of stand in front of the contest and wait.
Anyone more enlightened than myself have a thought to share on how to rate him? Was he tagging? Will he play next week?

He'll play next week, on a par with Ross, only behind Steele from today's game. He's a keeper, play him all season in my opinion. Others should be worried once Crouch, Jones & Hanners are available.

The kid's a developing 'beast'. Interesting he's doing shirtloads of work on the track with the skipper. He's 'rated', believe me, and justifiably so. We got him cheap cosa his 'structural injury' in his last TAC Cup year. Without that, he's top 5.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sun 21 Mar 2021 8:08pm He'll play next week, on a par with Ross, only behind Steele from today's game. He's a keeper, play him all season in my opinion. Credit to our patience, and willingness to develop underrated talent.
He really is a keeper, this kid, and today we got a taste of his disciplined approach to do what's needed - as the stats testify to.
Full strength midfield? He does lots of stuff 'pleasing to the eye'.

Not quite Sebb like but getting there. Seb 19 possessions 2 tackles and 2 goals Against 13 possessions and 10 tackles.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sun 21 Mar 2021 8:08pm He'll play next week, on a par with Ross, only behind Steele from today's game. But, the kid's a keeper.

Have a look at the Higgins goal in the 3rd quarter. Great compusure for a guy playing his 4th game. He takes the mark and realises his opponent is not coming up to the mark and he plays on and loops a handpass in front of Sinclair. Great vision.
Nice mark by Higgins as well.

My thoughts on guys playing in their first season are that they don’t need to get in the best players, they just need to show something and show it consistently. On today’s performance he showed that he’s not scared and he’s prepared to get his hands dirty.I’m all for the club giving him a solid run in the seniors. I reckon he’ll only keep getting better

Yeah, just keep playing him.... Bytel will tear a game apart one day. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Also,Highmore on debut played as if he’s already got 50 games under his belt.

A monster attacking handball, placed to a team mates advantage - great vision and skills. Loved it!kosifantutti wrote: ↑Sun 21 Mar 2021 8:58pm Have a look at the Higgins goal in the 3rd quarter. Re: Thoughts on Bytel’s game?
Good hit out from Bytel.
Still not convinced with his chippy kicking technique, reminds me a bit of the way Raph Clarke would loop the ball forward and put players underpressure.
But apart from that very happy with his hunting instincts.

Re: Thoughts on Bytel’s game?
A tackling machine & will only get better . Needs more game time to show his real value but IMO was serviceable but is capable of better than we saw today

Re: Thoughts on Bytel’s game?
Couple of excellent, critical clearances in the last quarter. Seemed to be running a lot harder than the other mids late in the game.

I was too invested in the game to pay attention and haven’t watched a replay yet but was he given a job/jobs on individuals?
