Re: Capacity now up to 75% -Just announced
Hell yeah.
More chance of getting a ticket with a tier 3 membership now!
Although now there is more chance of having Melbourne supporters there.
This better sell out. Should be huge.

Awesome. And hopefully we are back to 100% capacity when we play off in the GF.

Docklands maximum is now 43,000. Our largest crowd ever there for a Melbourne game is 40,004 in 2005.

Not a chance. Melbourne fans hate Marvel and they never go there. Seems after last weekend they don't really go to the G either. 20K last Saturday was disgusting.

How many times a year do we have over 75% capacity at a home game?

Re: Capacity now up to 75% -Just announced
75% is just silly .
Once there's more than 50 % its probably pretty hard to social distance so what's the point of trying.
100 % would mean clubs don't have to stuff around with ticketing and other problems that arise .
Reserve seat holders would be happier as would everyone who just wants to go the game like we used to . ( and pay $20 for a cold pie and warm beer.)
Also for st kilda , when have we ever filled a ground .
I've been to 2 GFs sellouts of course and a probably 5 or 6 games a the dome that were sellouts.
Saturdays match is a special occasion , The first chance to honor Spud .
However if it was a normal match v the dees with both teams playing well , I would be amazed if we got 75% capacity.

So it's up to 75% and yet Carlton and Collingwood only get 51,000 (50%).
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Hey. What is wrong with you Melbourne types. I came over from Perth on Monday with the intent to attend the SK V Melb and WCE V Dullbogs games. Was so convinced, with 50% crowd limits, that I would not be able to get tickets. So I paid a poultice for expensive tickets from Premium Seats in the Medallion Club! Only to discover that there were plenty of excellent seats for sale on Wednesday. What is wrong with you all. In Perth seats at the footy are as rare as hens teeth. How can a club with 50000 members only get a 25000 crowd including opposition supporters? So many questions: how can tonight’s Piesv Blues game be described as a BLOCKBUSTER when both teams are sh1t. Footy in Melbourne is headed for the sewer.

It's a night game, so that automatically knocks out a huge chunk of members.1965 Saint wrote: ↑Thu 25 Mar 2021 11:24pm Hey. What is wrong with you Melbourne types. I can't imagine we get huge crowds when we usually play the Dees?

The Blues might be struggling a bit but Collingwood won a final in Perth last season barely six months ago, should've won the 2018 GF and absolutely racked us up last season too.1965 Saint wrote: ↑Thu 25 Mar 2021 11:24pm Hey. The issue is that even with allowing more tickets, the system which requires you to download apps onto your mobile phone, giving up personal information to do this, and then entering all your codes into a platform (after waiting for an email) is a bit of a hassle for some people, an inconvenience for many, and too hard basket for most elderly people to do by themselves.
And different ticket platforms do the different stadiums so that adds another layer to the stuffing around.
I predict that the crowd tonight will be about 50% capacity due to this.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

Re: Capacity now up to 75% -Just announced
so how does crowd limiting work in melbourne? One seat space between people, or two seats space between pairs, etc? at the gabba last year the fifty per cent limit literally meant 50% of sections were closed to the piblic. Everyone attending was then crowded into the open sections. Absolutely idiotic and pointless. And of course the announcers kept pleading to keep social distancing when queueing for food. then return to your seats jammed in tight amongst cheering and screaming strangers.
