Marshel and jone back, Ryder and Patton a week away
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/hol ... 57l8f.html
Ruckman Rowan Marshall and midfielder Zak Jones will come straight back in for the Saints, who will try to rebound against Port Adelaide after a humiliating belting by Richmond.
.
.
.
.
Defender Ben Paton is, like Ryder, likely to be considered next week.
Didn't think Patton would be back for a year so good news, but may also be a misprint

That's what the article said but I am guessing it's a misprint I am guessing they might be Byrnes they are thinking of not Patton

Well, Jesus rose from the dead in 3 days, so there ya go
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Yeah, bad boo boo there from an experience journalist too.
Another thing that irks me is the use of “small sample size”.
2 games in a 22 game season is nearly ten percent. That is not a small sample size.

Thinking fast above so now, thinking slow, it's actually much worse..One blowout might be considerd random. Two blowouts in the space of three weeks...Houston, we have a problem.
2 out of 5 games is 40%.
2 out of last 3 is 66.66%
Small sample size...pfff.
Houston?
You there?

Well getting one out of four correct, lines up with the Saints this year in terms of quarters won.
Let's hope that Patty Ryder plays again soon

Re: Marshel and jone back, Ryder and Patton a week away
"Veteran ruckman Paddy Ryder is another week away from being considered for selection. He took a break from the club for personal reasons last month.
Former captain Jarryn Geary and midfielder Dan Hannebery are at least another couple of weeks away as is veteran defender James Frawley. St Kilda youngster Ryan Byrnes is also still on the comeback trail from a hamstring tendon injury."
Read the article. no mention of Patton as far as I can see.

Not now anyway - perhaps it was altered. Paul Hunter is still a "youngster" though. It's not so much his strength that is an issue, it's that he can't leap more a few cms off the ground.saynta wrote: ↑Thu 22 Apr 2021 11:27am "Veteran ruckman Paddy Ryder is another week away from being considered for selection. Lazy Journalism.
Did he write the article on his phone during his train commute?

Marshall & Jones will play.
Webster 50-50. Clark has the flu and missed training today.
Joyce & Byrnes trained with the first 18 in match sim.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

How can he be classed as a ruckman if he can't jump? FFS.perfectionist wrote: ↑Thu 22 Apr 2021 11:57amNot now anyway - perhaps it was altered. Paul Hunter is still a "youngster" though.
