What did you think of the Round as a whole?

Post: # 1899699Post shanegrambeau »

Did you see anything that gives us some context for our win maybe?

I think we can agree, Hawthorn were really bad and we were more than decent.

Melb vs North Are you surprised that it was so close?
Carl beat Essendon (Dons thrashed us...would we beat the Blues next week?)
Sydney vs Geelong (safe to assume we are off the mark?)
Rich vs WBulldogs ( ditto?)
Brisbane vs Port (ditto?)
Collingwood betean by Gold Coast (WTF?? do you make out of this result?)
GWS > Adelaide (who cares? - both mediocre teams? - we can beat or lose to both?)

..and now we've had a day to refelct...on our win now...how to do rate it?

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Better than a loss

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

I see that we can move the ball well when we have it in hand but cannot cope when the opposition has control

The results were good for us, on the whole. Loved the karma at SCG and Melbourne nerves in Tassie. Who doesn't like watching Collingwood slowly implode. Stewards will inquire into Eagles and Dockers betting patterns. Josh Bruce cheered me up no end Friday which is mean but he did kick 10 goals a while ago which was a fingers up to us. Some teams have serious home ground advantages, Essendon is ordinary. So is Adelaide. Wish we had Lukosius. Final 8 contenders rising to top. Mightily concerned by the Saints man fan in our row that angrily threated anyone who needed to pass him to enter/leave the row, and this was 20 mins before start. Rats tail was a signal, but its a worry some fans have such nasty anger pent up. Felt for his wife and kids, but kids were horrors too. Loved the spontaneous singing after the match by fans - joyous stuff.

It seems that the teams that beat us, lose heavily the next week....good.

I think it's safe to say Melbourne, Bulldogs, Richmond, Port Adelaide & Brisbane are finals locks.

West Coast and Geelong are likely finalists given their advantage at home.

I don't think Fremantle, Carlton, Adelaide, Essendon or Gold Coast are finals material. And obviously Collingwood, Hawthorn and North are done.

That leaves Sydney, GWS & St Kilda fighting for 8th. At the moment, we look the third best of that group. Games against Gold Coast, Geelong and Sydney coming up are 8 pointers for us.
