agreed
It must be soul destroying to be in the twos busting a gut each week to get a look in
and then watch this guy running around each week
but then I spose

Re: Hill has to go
I have no problem Ratts defending him in public. However behind closed doors the acid needs to be put on Hill.saynta wrote: ↑Sun 30 May 2021 2:24pm Ratts is defending him.

You also can't expect the same from King as you do from Hill. King is a second year player, who is experienceing the second year blues (very common). Hill is an experienced player who was recurited to the club and should be expected to perform. However they both need to be dropped, just for different reasons.
The only issue is who do you bring in?? I'm not sure. I like to see what Leo ca produce in the 1s, and apparently he is the best kick in the club. So if he can get 10 positions and not turn the ball over. Maybe it's a like for like. King on the other hand is a selection dilemma as I dont think we have any other talls - Can Frawley play forward????

Re: Hill has to go
In years to come when that young North bloke on Hill on Saturday is a bonafide star recognised by all, we can say: sure we saw that coming, we appreciated his effort on Brad. It wasn't that Brad was bad, that kid can play... won't we?

Re: Hill has to go
I just realised that Carlton dropped Marc Murphy, a former captain and club great, for last weeks game.
Yet apparently Hill is too big to be dropped...

Hear Co-capt. Steele: too many injuries so Hilly plays. Watch this space as players return, if Brad's form doesn't then maybe the strong calls to drop him will be heard.
Still think he has one of the best kicking actions ever, but I guess its not ballet. Nevertheless be careful what you/we wish for.

That's a bit more than Ratts has ever admitted.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Tue 01 Jun 2021 6:45pm Hear Co-capt. Steele: too many injuries so Hilly plays. Watch this space as players return, if Brad's form doesn't then maybe the strong calls to drop him will be heard.

Is this a sign that the players reckon that the club's not transparent enough?
Normally a player knows not to disagree with a coach's public statement.
Reading b/w the lines, Steele and maybe other players, aren't satisfied with the output of The Rock Star...
And that's why they'd rather kick to a contest instead of The Diva

Re: Hill has to go
About a month ago, when there was an 8 or 9 day break, Hill went to Perth for a very short trip.
Obvious (now) that it was essential. At the time, fans didn't know.
Sad news

Re: Hill has to go
He is clearly out of form at the moment, but what will be gained by dropping him with no VFL being played at the moment (no announcement for this week that i have heard)? Who do people want to replace him with? If Hunter Clark is fit again that is the only person that would be able to come in and fill that role, unless you decided to have Bytel back in the side and try to use Byrne in Hill's role? If there was someone knocking down the door I would say send him back to get some touches, but not much point if he is just going to be watching the seniors.

Byrne or Clark comes in for Hill.
They'll get at least 6 touches, there ya go

Herald Sun- the old drunk Robbo says Hill n Hannas are both embarrassing.
Paywall so didn't read it.
Has the old turd been in rehab all this time?
That's OLD news

Re: Hill has to go
re HS headline, thanks WellardSaint (lovely semi rural suburb by the way.)
Of course Saints are embarrassed by recruitment of Dan H. Probably negotiating a settlement now. For balance, list all other clubs without an embarrassing recruitment, Hawks, Melbourne.......they have all made mistakes
Brad, different case. There would be disappointment but not in same league as Dan. Media and fan criticism possibly hindering a return to form. HS and a lot of us are harsh with nary a care for Brad's mental health. Would Baker-Finch be vilified because he lost his swing. And this is not to suggest Brad has lost his. He is a lightening rod for the team's poor season when expectations were high and we don't take disappointment well.
Only a few at the Club understand what is really going on. Robbo doesn't and I imagine doesn't care, just knock out a cheap 1000 words so other 17 clubs fans can have a morsel of offal. The sight of him crocodile tearing up after his hatchet attempts on Buckley for years is vomitus. Where does Robbo's credibility come from.
Rather than pile on we can only hope Brad re-gathers his high performance levels, but under constant pressure and scrutiny that might not be possible. Meanwhile recruiters and selectors will be looking for a new wing/half back. There will be a tipping point one way or the other soon enough.

Re: Hill has to go
I could print the fat f***'s article for you all. but I won't as it is just another part of the pile on by so called experts keen to denigrate the Saints at the first available opportunity.
The drunk doesn't even mention that Hill lost his grandfather the day before the Roos match, that's how far out of touch the prick really is.
Quoting Micky Milkshake, a renowned Saints hater, f*** me.
