Dunny watch
I was going to set this up before the game but ended up running out of time.
I thought since he has been a hotly discussed player this week it would be good to objectively focus on him as the game goes, instead of letting a few incidents cloud his whole night (which could blow up in my face).
First quarter it looks like he’s starting in the middle on a tag. Possessions of note was a brilliant kick to King ending up in a goal, a snap under pressure on his left that just missed, and a kick under pressure on his right (which he clearly doesn’t look comfortable on) that was picked off. I’ll also note that the disposal efficiency from both teams is down for that quarter, and there’s been quite a few turnovers.
Solid start for Dunstan IMO.

Highest contested possessions for us that quarter too apparently.

Re: Dunny watch
Good start to the quarter.
A bit of a don’t argue through some traffic and a kick inside 50.
Intercept mark then quick dish off to Hill who hits up Butler - goal.

Re: Dunny watch
Has been good so far
Seems to play better outside of the Dome IMO
Seems to me that his contested work has improved quite a bit so far this season
Just seems to be getting more of it

Re: Dunny watch
Yep, dunno why - perhaps an opposition move. One of things I hate watching on TV - you can't see anything - and the d..heads on TV will never pick it up.

Re: Dunny watch
Yep didn’t do much for the rest of the quarter, but the whole team seemed to stop for about 10 minutes there. A few little things but nothing of note.
14 disposals to half time and 4 tackles. 2 clearances (equal second for the team behind Steele with 7). 6th ranked player for us.

beating Laird. If he continues he's done his job well.

Re: Dunny watch
He’s definitely one to watch
Dunstan looked so good early and his improvement just stalled all of a sudden.
I always wondered if he was a player that perhaps didn’t push himself over the Richo years as he was so lacklustre
There’s an urgency/desperation about him I’m loving at the moment... approaches every contest like it could be his last

Definitely had some development issues with a lot of young players from that era.skeptic wrote: ↑Sat 12 Jun 2021 9:49pm He’s definitely one to watch

Re: Dunny watch
Nice little side step through traffic out of the middle and kick inside 50. Otherwise been pretty quiet in the 3rd.

Re: Dunny watch
Timely intercept mark in D50. Followed up a minute later with great desperate tackle preventing clean shot at goal.
Quick give to Sincs in the middle that didn’t quite come off

Re: Dunny watch
Attempted barrel inside 50 to Higgins nearly came off.
Got another 8 touches that quarter but nothing really of note. Looks comfortable in traffic but that makes sense as that’s where he does his best inside work. Seems like he looks for the quick handball to a passing runner a lot, which again makes sense.
Team high 9 tackles now. Still equal second in clearances with 3. 3rd highest ranked player for us.

Re: Dunny watch
not perfect but more of sincs going to fast to handle it.
he's having a good game. pressuring many crows players as they kick, putting many off their target. definitely earned a spot next week up til now. fingers crossed he keeps it up. we're in for a bit of a fight now.

At this stage in our top 5 I reckon.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 12 Jun 2021 10:30pm Attempted barrel inside 50 to Higgins nearly came off.

Re: Dunny watch
Terrible last quarter across the whole team, Dunstan was quiet.
26 touches, 10 tackles, 3 clearances, 3rd highest ranked player.
Very solid game, more than deserves his spot.

Re: Dunny watch
Same old Dunstan
No class poor disposals and can’t run out games.
Will be delisted end of year amongst another 8+.
Got 100 games in seasons of Mediocrity.
The one season we played finals he didn’t play, says it all.

Re: Dunny watch
Played ok
Just one play really annoyed me, his kicking was as per usual but he missed a 1M handball to Sinclair on the burst, huge turnover in the centre of the ground
Just shouldn’t happen at that level
Sinclair looked at Dunstan like WTF

Re: Dunny watch
If the worst moment of his game was missing a handball by a few inches I’d say he’s done pretty well! (Considering there were multiple times tonight blokes straight up kicked it to the opposition under no pressure, or missed gimme goals)
How about his kick to King in the first?

Re: Dunny watch
Dunny was Dunny but a hell of a lot better than f***-ng Lonie ,Coffield ,Battle ,Buttler I could go on but IMO he was in our best 6 . It was a terrible fade out & we need to be a lot better than that . We have injuries but you can't defend that effort after half time

Re: Dunny watch
What part isn’t true?
Last part is a fact the rest is an opinion.
Let’s revisit this end of year shall we he is out of contract end of year.
Want to put your reputation on him being at St Kilda next year?
A player at his prime and not one conversation about him being recontracted....
Know what that means?
