The run home.
9. ST KILDA
Record: 8-8, 86.9%
R18: Port Adelaide (Marvel)
R19: West Coast (Optus)
R20: Carlton (Marvel)
R21: Sydney (Marvel)
R22: Geelong (GMHBA)
R23: Fremantle (Marvel)
WE SAY
The Saints have come from the clouds to win their past three matches and now sit as a very real chance of playing finals football again this year. It’s incredible to think that this is a side that lost to the Western Bulldogs by 111 points just seven weeks ago, but is now in form and growing in confidence by the week. Given their lowly percentage, the Saints look like needing a minimum of four wins to make it. While they still have five current top-eight opponents to play, you’d have to say that is entirely possible on current form.

Re: The run home.
We would all love to see us make the 8. If we don’t there will be some clubs in the 8 who are very nervous about playing us.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

I see all bar the Geelong game as very winnable if we turn up with our A game ![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

Re: The run home.
We should've beat the Cats earlier in the season and Saints are fielding a better team and playing a better brand now.

Re: The run home.
From the age.com.au
ST KILDA
9th: 8 wins, 8 losses
32 points, 86.9%
Run home: Port Adelaide (Marvel), West Coast (Optus), Carlton (Marvel), Sydney (Marvel), Geelong (GMHBA), Fremantle (Marvel).
The Saints headed into their mid-season bye with their season appearing all but over on the back of a capitulation to Adelaide in Cairns. But remarkably, Brett Ratten’s side has found a pulse – and then some – winning three matches in a row on the back of defensive steel and the welcome return of several key players. The tandem work of Paddy Ryder and Rowan Marshall – the best combination to hit St Kilda since fish and chips – has been crucial to the resurgence. St Kilda are still hamstrung by their poor percentage, a vestige of several shellackings in the first half of the season, but their destiny is in their own hands. Perhaps counterintuitively, the Saints’ worst football this year has come at Marvel Stadium, where a lack of outside run and class has been badly exposed, particularly by Essendon and the Western Bulldogs. So strangely enough, the true test of whether the Saints are back may come on Saturday night against Port Adelaide, a side that has generally beaten the also-rans this year.

Yeah, I'm feeling a bit grubby, but it's a kinda novelty to barrack for a team who gets the 'rub of the green' from the umpires.

Re: The run home.
Fremantle are a very ordinary side - they wont be playing finals.
Watching Acres constantly falling over and not hitting targets makes me wonder what we ever saw in that kid. Darcy Tucker is another who is losing his footing constantly and getting run down from behind. I thought he was meant to be a gun but he has looked ordinary tonight.

He fooled me, I was convinced he'd become an outstanding midfielder......just as I thought Dunstan would be a future leader....

Re: The run home.
Freo's % currently taking a fair hit
Could drop from 97 to 92
A 6 goal win for us v Port would take us to around 90%![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Re: The run home.
If we make the Finals with a bit of momentum and a fairly healthy list their wouldn't be too many sides wanting to face us

Re: The run home.
You realize we have to beat Port by 173 points and restrict them to three goals on Saturday just to get a 100.00 percentage!
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Do you realise that if we beat port by a point we will be in 8th position.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Thu 15 Jul 2021 11:33pm
