Re: Inside Mail
Be interesting if the contract offered takes him to the doorstep of RFA. Is that 4 years away?
If so that's 4 years for both clubs to prove to the Kings which is the better club for their final years.
I suspect they will be a the same club at some point.

Yeah apparently he is very happy up at the GC and I'd say there is more chance Max will end up at the GC than Ben is a chance of coming our way.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sat 31 Jul 2021 7:14am Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I have been reliably informed that Ben King had agreed to terms and is about to sign to stay put.

Sorry, the OP has negative cred. Don't believe them yet.
Even if true, the team needs mids more than forwards.

Yeah I personally can't vouch for the OPs claim but from all the murmurs coming from the GC Ben is very happy at the GC.axcellence wrote: ↑Sun 01 Aug 2021 12:09pm Sorry, the OP has negative cred. Don't believe them yet.

We need another tall forward more urgently than any other position and then closely followed by mids and then another tall backman. It may take 3 years to get fully stocked but we should be looking for the longer game now that we have discovered last years finals appearance was probably a bi product of the Pandemic.

Re: Inside Mail
I reckon if Max and the parents go to GC for Christmas, they'll all end up moving there.
Ariarne Titmus (swimmer) her fam moved from Tassie to Brisvegas when she was 15 for better training.
I grew up in Melb but got fed up with the cold n moved to.Perth a few years back.
It happens.
Kings might follow the sun.
But they may still follow the Saints, not the Suns

It's a bit different moving to QLD if you're a swimmer. However the Suns track record of retaining good footballers and stopping them returning to their respective football States is as poor as our Premiership tally.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sun 01 Aug 2021 12:54pm I reckon if Max and the parents go to GC for Christmas, they'll all end up moving there.

It can’t be pleasant going cold in the goal square while the team gets a 100 point thrashing.

From BF today sauce bro of a player:
Got it on good authority that Ben King will request a trade out of Gold Coast at the end of this year.
The problem will be the GC CEO. Been also told that he can be a bit of an ass to deal with

I think Tassie house prices have gone up more than every other state in the last 20 years. Maybe people want to escape the heatWellardSaint wrote: ↑Sun 01 Aug 2021 12:54pm I reckon if Max and the parents go to GC for Christmas, they'll all end up moving there.

What happens in 30 years time when there's maybe 6 months of summer and 3 months of 40 degrees plus temperatures in Queensland and Western Australia?
Good luck trying to find any land for sale in Tassie or New Zealand

Shame if true
I reckon this would be the year to go he'll for leather for him.
Geelong does it well, pays overs for Dangerfield or Cameron, but secures a game changing gun.

Re: Inside Mail
Why would a player want to waste his career by playing at the GC apart from coin.
Prediction. In the next 3 years Rowell (Geelong), Anderson (Hawthorn), Lukosius (Crows), Rankine (Port), King (Sainters), Powell (Ess), Bowes and Brodie (North).
Good ambitious footballers playing in footy mad states.

we'll be back in the stone age globe wide
Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are large expulsions of plasma and magnetic field from the Sun's corona. ... This can result in the sudden release of electromagnetic energy in the form of a solar flare; which typically accompanies the explosive acceleration of plasma away from the Sun
or a geomagnetic excursion
(again , the window is supposably open on this as well)
all though as i understand things
the Excursion is creating our vulnerability to the CME

Re: Inside Mail
Wouldn't ben be of most use to us as a replacement for Carlisle? He's definitely played back there and I think he could be a massive asset to the club as a long term CHB. don't really like the idea of two clones in a forward line and Max seems to be hitting his stride and starting to become the forward we all knew he was going to be.
Question is though would that be something Ben would even consider?

For all we know Ben may prefer to play CHB rather than Key forward. I would get Ben in a heartbeat if available and wanting to come.roskilde wrote: ↑Tue 03 Aug 2021 2:58pm Wouldn't ben be of most use to us as a replacement for Carlisle? Re: Inside Mail
Unfortunately Ben still has a year on his contract so Suns would demand a hefty price at this year end.
Maybe end 2022 if he is out of contract we would have a better chance.

Just pay the cost and get him now.
GC have had that many concessions that they should be leaned on by AFL to take what would be a reasonable deal.
