He reckons they have completely changed the culture, had to start again basically, speared a heap of toxic players and staff over the past few years. Apparently they gave free reign to the indigenous boys to create a giant mural on a wall within the club detailing their roots etc and is the envy of indigenous players from other clubs who checked it out when they were in the QLD hub in 2020. No longer is it a death wish to be drafted to the coast, chuck in the waves of snapper, burleigh etc where else would you rather be Geelong..
I think if we are fighting the GCS for a spot in the final 8, 9 teams have had putrid years and are in serious trouble. I say that because that's how important Ben is to them. He's some very good reasons to stay by the sounds Yelling, good luck to him if he stays but there's a romanticism about joining his brother at the Saints.
I'd be surprised if there's a coach in the league who could not find a spot for both in their forward line.
I was very hopeful on getting Bing but I very much doubt the AFL will let it happen they need Bing to stay at Gold Coast & they will make it almost impossible for him to leave with big incentives & a guaranteed future for life & who could blame him for milking that cash cow especially since his knee injury IMO anyway
Few yrs ago, Tom Rockliff at the Lions was angry publicly about a few of their young ones returning to Melb, the draftees who decided not to re-sign with Lions...calling them 'Mummies Boys'.
What is it with young blokes and QLD?
I agree with one poster that Bing being in Melb for op will tug at the heart-strings.
But I wonder if GC will insist he returns north asap for his rehab. He can sit in a plane seat near an exit, you know the ones with all the extra leg-room? So he can keep that leg straight.
GC won't want him getting cold feet.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
Remember one of the 10 Commandments : Thou shalt have no other team before thee
Players would still be able to earn money outside of the afl like apparel sponsors etc . In the past Gold Coast Council have paid sports people particularly rugby league. Jarod Haynes big money a couple of years back. AFL probably already give GCC money

Jarryd Haynes has probably spent all that money on legal costs, he's not the messiah, he's a naughty boy.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
