I was wanting opinions on Geary. Do you think he should be considered for selection? Or should he be a mentor a Sandringham and hopefully fast track our youngsters? IMHO, I reckon that should be his role this year. We are not a finals team so we need to pump as many games into the youngsters as possible. Geary has been a great player so because of that I would give him one farewell game towards the end of the year.
Thoughts?

St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!
I love what Gears has done & has been a great example of getting the most out of yourself with the ability you have but his time is done as a player & if we are serious about getting a team & a strategy that will take us forward then it's a no from me
I think Gears should play at Sandy unless injuries hit us hard.
He can be virtually the onfield coach for the Saints players down there, getting them properly ready for AFL
If we are serious about moving up the ladder, then Geary, Paddy and Hanners and Hill should be moved on. We need to get youth in there regardless of the risk. Our success won't come through trying fix things in the now with old dodgy players.
It's only round 2 and we are scraping the bottom of the barrel already. I hate to keep repeating what we already know, our list is a deck of cards, our choices when we get a few inquiries or incapable players is between skinny kids who haven't played at the AFL or broken down vetrans well past their use by date. It almost feels like any dreams of playing finals this year should be parked up and just go development for 2022.

Only if it was a choice between him and Kent.
I admire Geary as a bloke who squeezed every ounce of his ability and was as courageous as any player in the competition.
But save for one good game opposed to Daniel two years ago, Gears looked slow and that the game had well and truly passed him by.
the constant serious injuries over the past couple of seasons cannot have helped.
Huge respect for Geary and his career, but yep you are correct, the only way you would consider Geary is between him and Kent and possibly Hanners.

Would have Long in first
When will Long get a look in??
When his Sandy Zebs form improves enough to force Ratts n co to look at him, or some of our guys have to isolate- whichever comes first.

I don't see who he pushes out.
In the backline, Webster is much better, (on his day)
and if we look at the fwd line, he could push Butler out, but don't hold your breath. He's untouchable.
