Yeah he looks really assured and so much poise. Mature beyond his years.
The kid can play.

Re: The kid can play.
NVM is an outside mid. He plays both sides and both ends of the game and he never drifts far from the play.
Wing will do for now and 492 m from 13 kicks is elite. Nasiah makes time and space

I think he will. It's his 4th game. Let him build some strength and he's going to tear games apart. It takes a year for these guys to find their niche. He reminds me of Winmar.

There's little substitute for skill - and he has height and a leap. As far as I can tell, he has a level head on his shoulders as well. All good signs.

I think it was Dermie who said " If you get 1player in a draft that becomes regular 22, you've done well that draft. Looks like we have 2 already and will only be a matter of time before Owens is back in the team. We've made off like bandits in the last draft. It's the sort of draft that fast tracks teams to long term success and dare I say it, premierships!!
Massive to the club.

He only had 74% game time…that will grow with more exposure and experience.
He’ll no doubt be rested in the coming weeks.

Re: The kid can play.
In terms of possessions people need to remember (as a number have pointed out) it’s his 4th game and universally, the consensus preseason… the skinny kid is not AFL fit.
He clearly doesn’t have the tank or body definition to properly compete at this level and NWM will undoubtedly be rested sooner or later.
To me… these aren’t slights against NWM, they make his performance over 4 matches even more impressive. The kid is competing… he’s not a match winner yet but he’s given every indication that he is a superstar in the making

Re: The kid can play.
That bit of foot candy he sold on the wing right in front of and that pin point pass in the last quarter that ended up with Gresh kicking that incredible goal was simply brilliant.
Important though that we don't over cook him this year and he should have definite breaks this season and make sure he knows that he is simply being managed.

Don’t get me wrong, I reckon he can play.
Just pointing out how much footy a winger usually (not always) gets.
I’d be surprised if he plays much VFL
Too much talent

New blood Nicknames
These nicknames are working for me at the moment
Naz, Windy, Lino and Hazy,
Cheeto for Mitch when he comes back in.
I know its only early, but these guys are making the team better.
Pressure now on Jones, Clark, Coffield, Billings, Highmore, Bytel, Byrnes to really step up to claim/reclaim a spot.
Am not sure how Gears gets a game anymore which is sad in a way but great in another way. Kent no more again unless we have 10 out with Covid.
Great to be there for the win on Saturday. Was there for Collingwood, missed Richmond game due to Covid missed Hawks and obviously Dockers. First win Ive seen live in god knows how long. Last year got to see us be smacked by Essendon and Richmond then beat by Demons in the Spud game.....Sweet to sing the song ...

Re: The kid can play.
The only benefit I see for putting NWM in the VFL would be to have him play more minutes on a wing at a higher intensity (in terms of his gut running) without him being exposed the other way whilst he builds up fitness/strength.

Re: The kid can play.
Snippet from The Mongrel punt:
'Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera… This kid is going to be some kind of player, isn’t he? Not often do draftees come to a side’s 22 early on and thrive on the wing, but he is already holding good width, being used as an outlet and is slotting in rather comfortably, look out for the real rise in a few years’ time.'

Re: The kid can play.
He’s going to be a gun once he gets 40-50 games into him. His use of the ball makes him already dangerous and damaging.
Such poise and composure for a young player, though I do worry about his slight frame

Re: The kid can play.
I am staggered that some posters believe that NWM will need to make way for more senior players as they return. He is doing exactly what we want from a 19 year old kid. He's a breath of fresh air and you can see his confidence growing with each game. His skills are what we have been crying out for. Yeah, he may be a little light atm, but that will change. 15 quality possessions on the wing will do me every day of the week, especially with those laser like passes. Gee I haven't seen a saints player with those skills for a decade. When we drafted Billings THIS was what we were promised. The one thing I have noticed with this team compared to other teams in the last decade (including the team that made the 2020 finals) is the skills are very good. Sinclair, Hill, NWM, and even Steele particularly with hands.

Re: The kid can play.
Who promised you that, Trout and Bains.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
