Re: Changes round 23
Hope they give Kent his 100th game against Sid Knee and then give him his DCM after we lose.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Kent got gifted a dozen games, I don't think he needs one more.

Re: Changes round 23
Wouldn't mind seeing how Campbell goes as the main ruckman. He's been killing it at Sandy and really deserves a shot at it.
Move Marshall to a forward role and stretch the Swans talls.
Let King, Marshall, and Membrey all take turns going up the ground leaving one behind as a target with Higgins to crumb.
Battle should come in for the injured Webster and Jones stays in for Crouch.
Assume that Butler would make way for Campbell.

Re: Changes round 23
Play Connolly/Byrnes ahead of Kent, no time for sentiment
He can play with Sandringham and be appreciated at training by his teammates.
He has been a good teammate, by all accounts, and should be appreciated for coming across and playing some decent games for the Saints. But let's not just give him game ahead of a youngster

Absolutely play Connolly and Bytel for sure (get a game into him before he joins Bombers)Banger9798 wrote: ↑Mon 15 Aug 2022 9:29pm Play Connolly/Byrnes ahead of Kent, no time for sentiment

Re: Changes round 23
Wouldn't bother playing any of the guys with niggles, bar Hanners since he's playing to extend his career. Wouldn't mind seeing Jones play at half forward and hunt the Sydney defence with Long. After his successful cameo in the ruck I'd like to see if Owens could play that pinch hitting role again as well. Bytel should be rewarded for good form and given a chance to earn another contract. Make Campbell the sub to avoid catastrophe in case Marshall cops an injury
Out: Crouch (susp), Webster (inj), Sharman (inj)
In: Hanners, Bytel, Jones
B: Paton, Howard, Lienert
HB: Sinclair, Wilkie, Hill
C: Hannebery, Steele, Wood
HF: Higgins, Membrey, Jones
F: Butler, King, Owens
Foll: Marshall, Windhager, Ross
Int: Bytel, Clark, Long, Wangmil
Sub: Campbell
Out: Crouch (susp), Webster (inj), Sharman (inj)

HB: Sinclair, Wilkie, Hill
C: Hannebery, Steele, Wood
HF: Higgins, Membrey, Jones
F: Butler, King, Owens

Sub: Campbell

Re: Changes round 23
Saints marching band changes tune: plays Danny Boy while the Hanneberry does a farewell lap in the medi golf cart convertible.
Battle in to give Lance a nightmare;
Max kicks well.
Bytel in, goes ok.

Re: Changes round 23
He was injured (knee perhaps??) for the second half which is why they moved him forward.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Tue 16 Aug 2022 10:54pm Are people excluding Sharman based on him not getting up from his corkie, or on form?

He could no long leap properly, and you could tell the role the club then gave him was to block etc for King and for Sharman to not try and play his normal game which is more based on leaping.
With a player already subbed out and other players injured we needed Sharman to stay on so that rotations of our running players could be maintained.
I would suspect that his body may not be right for this week. We should have a fit Battle back in. Though we may lose Webster.

Where is Highmore at?
Not "Simon Templar". He was here first. Please change my username to Bumstead and if possible make me one of those very large sandwiches, thanks!

Re: Changes round 23
If we extend Hannebery’s contract by a year after his return of 4 quarters across 2 games in 2022… even with a solid last game, that might be it for me.
How ppl have convinced themselves that after what… 15 odd games in 5 years and being pretty much unavailable for the entirety of the year despite heading into the preseason fit… that somehow magically a 6th is the ticket is mind boggling to me.
It is in my opinion sheer madness

Coach said he had a corky, then copped another one in a different spot. Kid has loads of guts.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Wed 17 Aug 2022 9:36amHe was injured (knee perhaps??) for the second half which is why they moved him forward.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Tue 16 Aug 2022 10:54pm Are people excluding Sharman based on him not getting up from his corkie, or on form?

Re: Changes round 23
From AFL.com.au
an Hannebery is a chance to return from an ankle injury if he proves his fitness after missing last Friday night's loss to Brisbane. Josh Battle will also need to prove his fitness on Thursday. Jack Bytel hasn’t played a senior game this year after playing 13 last year, but should be in contention after amassing 29 disposals, 14 clearances and 10 tackles in the VFL. Ryan Byrnes (26 disposals, nine tackles and seven clearances) and Tom Campbell (42 hitouts, 22 touches and 11 clearances) were both impressive for Sandringham after being senior emergencies.
R22 medical substitute: Zak Jones (replaced Jimmy Webster)
Verdict: Hannebery and Battle in for Webster and Brad Crouch, who was suspended for his bump last Friday night. – Josh Gabelich

That's madness skeptic. Taking it too seriously when you allow small things like that impact you so much you are willing to cut one of your favourite sports and pass times.skeptic wrote: ↑Wed 17 Aug 2022 10:45am If we extend Hannebery’s contract by a year after his return of 4 quarters across 2 games in 2022… even with a solid last game, that might be it for me.

…or maybe just get an AFL membership with an affiliation to the Suns. That way he’ll get tickets to the 2024 Grand Final

Like it, but it won’t happen. We’re hoping to bomb it on top of Max King’s head with three guys hanging off him. Might be able to break him down irretrievably mentallyLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Mon 15 Aug 2022 6:35pm Wouldn't mind seeing how Campbell goes as the main ruckman.
