I know every footy fan barracks for Carlton as our 2nd team (sarcasm- some in the media invented the story early this yr)
Blues say bye bye to Newnes.
Oh well, he was one of my faves up till about 2017.

Seemed to become a completely different player from first to second half of his career.
Was alot more inside originally, finished up as very outside
Never seemed the same after getting knocked out against the Swans at Marvel. Might have even been his 100th game.
I agree he was very handy but after that incident he was a shadow of the player he was .
Agree.
I said exactly this, about a month ago.
He seemed to be less intense right after that.
It's a brutal game

Interesting delisting. I'm guessing they realise that his average performance is going to be slightly ahead of kids vying for the same spot in the team and by getting him off the list it removes temptation for the coaches to play someone who isn't going to improve over a kid with upside. It was quite bizarre how he made steady improvement with us year over year and then went backwards after 2017. He then remained a pretty ordinary player throughout his time with the Blues, though he was picked most weeks.

What happened in his 100th game in 2017, vs Swans?
You reckon it caused him to plateau?

Has there been a less remarkable 200 + games ever played in VFL/AFL history?
I doubt it.
I’ll never forget the Thursday night groans when you’d see his frightful name on the team sheet, week after punishing week - I still shudder at the thought.
He can either burn his secret pics of Cho or get a job at the Dees, for us at least, the nightmare is over!

Wow way to go “supporter”
Jog on
" A few will never give up on you. When you go back out on the field, those are the people I want in your minds. Those are the people I want in your hearts."
Will always be remembered by Carlton fans for his remarkable after-the-siren monster goal hemmed into the fence at the 50m arc boundary.
Reminds you of how remarkable are the blistering skills of even your average run-o-the-mill AFL player.
I didn’t watch footy in those years he was said to be good, but the concussion sounds dreadful and a makes you wonder and worry.
Jack Higgins was not the same this year after his blow. His shot at goal last week pathetic.
Hunter has been bashed around and others too.
Must have a heap of knowledge .
We had a laugh at Carlton and his expense last week, but his lack of pressure as he (they) on the ground at the end of that Melbourne game may have sealed their fate.

Doubt he will get another gig.
Serviceable. But there is no more upside. Realistically becomes a list blocker.
Unless he can being a coaching role to the ground ... which he hasn't given any indication.

Did well.
Blues might “re-rookie” him. (I don’t know if that is technically feasible, but if so..)
He looked to be made of the right stuff, so to speak, for those first few years. He was even touted as captaincy material.
He was a great two runner, neat disposal and appeared cool under pressure. Maybe it was the headknock mentioned earlier, maybe our lack of player development but he then just turned into abit of a 'nothing' player. Shame.
