Fox doesn't even get the GrandFinal.
Grand final is protected as a public event, so has to be on free to air.
Can't it be on both ?
It probably could, if foxtel wanted to pony up the extra cash for it, but with fox now having its own commentators for 7 games, it may still fall under the anti siphoning rules.
Seven will telecast football on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays as well as some Saturdays in the last eight rounds of the season.
The AFL has committed to at least the first 15 rounds of the AFL season having a Thursday night game, which Seven and Fox Footy will telecast.
Seven gets the same amount of free-to-air games as the current deal — as many as three and a half games on average across any given round.
It has all the finals, all the marquee games, the Brownlow Medal and the grand final exclusively.
It also for the first time secures streaming rights to the games it covers.
Hmm possibly may need two streaming services one for seven and one kayo
What’s it mean for streaming?
Kayo was a one-stop shop for all nine AFL games this year but from 2025 onwards Seven will have streaming access to their three or more games per weekend.
It will allow them to promote their streaming brand with highlights, live games and playback options which they haven’t been able to do in the current deal.
So if you don’t have a TV and only want to stream then you will need Kayo and the Seven app.

I have foxtel so really don't give a f*** about ch 7 and its very annoying broadcast.
Yeah, since covid first happened I have subscribed to Kayo. But we still get the heinous Channel 7 commentary. I believe with this new deal Fox Footy will be able to use members of its commentary team for games Channel has the rights to. Do you remember the old Fox Footy option of having only the sounds of the game in the telecast? I wish they would bring that back.

Would be bliss. Atmosphere would increase ten fold. Turn the telly up rather than down or mute.
Not "Simon Templar". He was here first. Please change my username to Bumstead and if possible make me one of those very large sandwiches, thanks!
