No game plan can survive our skill level!
Thank you
Thank **** the club know this
I’ve said a thousand times
Waste of time playing finals with this lot
Drop out
Hit the draft
Fortunately the axe will come and that midfield better get an overhaul
I’ll go spare if we spend all on TDK and leave that midfield rabble in place
Part 2

Thread suggestions for New Topics

The players will be paid their full weekly wages and so will Ross Lyon...but everyone is really hurting

Rowan is one of my favourite players, but Ross and Lenny are setting up the team for these sorts of losses if they think we can go for a full season with only 1 recognised ruck. Especially against the monsters like Witts

Great strategy leaving out Hunter Clark from the starting lineup even though he's one of our most effective clearance players.

Brad Crouch and Jack Steele have been ordinary at their main role and have been beaten at centre clearance...but I'll bet my balls they both line up in the middle for the most centre bounces again next week.

Clearances lost 40-27
Stoppage clearances we were smashed 30-19

Discuss
Who you bringing in from twos that’s going to change all that in 1 week for us?

Discuss.
Play Owens as a pure mid

Play Steele as a forward

Mix it up

Say hi to your brother Ross

Reported for baiting
Kiss my ass

Is he your brother or your cousin

C'mon. Come clean
Reported for stalking and baiting

Another ruck who can tap a ball yes
Plus maybe 1 more tall defender….Battle looks a little lost at times for mine
2 x Quick, goal kicking mids
1 x KPD of the marking & monster variety
1 x Monster Ruckman - too many games we are getting blown away by not being able to at least break even at a CB - that is hard work for a good midfield, catastrophic for our current set up.

If the senior coach has to tell adult footballers that have grown up with the game how to hit a target by foot and hand, we are in more trouble that we thought.
If one player has poor execution, it's on the player. If everyone does, it's the coach.

So who is responsible for a group dropoff in basic skill execution this year?
Has the group really dropped off just this year in 18 games?
Or
Has the group been poor for close to 10 years skills wise with nothing done about and poorly skilled players (see Jones etc) continually recruited and getting games ??
Go through our side and list our “elite by foot” ball users

Is the coach really going to change that in 18 ganes????
Then this year.

Yep I think that’s right midfielders with dash from contest who can score are key ….hard to get but key …
Interesting on radio today they were going through Bombers midfield and saying with guys like Satas doing well innVFL guys like Shiel might not be best 22 (I don’t want Shiel - crab) but I laughed cause they outbid us close to $1m to get him ..,then stole Caldwell too

It's been terrible under the last four coaches.

When was the last time we were a skilled team? 2010?

Glass half full type??
18 games in….Lyon hasn’t fixed 10 years of Richo, Ratten Shiite so he’s no good??
Good to have you in the trenches 👍
Fixed? He's dug the hole deeper, quicker and put us back at least 2 years.
He cannot motivate the players, can't discipline execution. Ratts couldn't, Richo couldn't. And he is no different.
His commentary will however be first class.
I will renew next year, but I know a car crash when I see it.
Only dropping 7 for next week will get me to think it may not be hopeless for the foreseeable and Ross isnt a fraud. Or unless Ross resigns.

Clearly some players being managed this week.

Owens 50% TOG
Pou subbed out
Clark 37% TOG despite being subbed early Q3

I don't even think we have 7 selectable players in the VFL right now.

The encouraging part about Peris's game today was it showed that if a player has some talent (not needing to necessarily be killing it in the VFL) can show something on the big stage. That's the dare we need at selection. Let's face it, there are a lot of AFL players who would struggle at Sandringham.
I am all for giving Hotton, Van Es, Adams, Keeler, Heath a taste of AFL before they launch into the upcoming pre season. Obviously not all at once.

Certainly not Ross.
But then is he a coach or a fraud.
We are going backwards, that's sort of the opposite of good coaching.
Gee I hope he isn't as fraudulent as he seems so far.
Exploratory? Sure, here's my pin.

Quantify the drop.
And point to periods where we were clearly better skilled in the last five years.

Our skill level has been terrible for a long time now. It started under Watters and continued through Richo and did not improve under Ratten.
But, oh no, it's the coach that's at fault.

We take highly skilled kids and turn them into spuds with the football in hand.

Huge effort against Dees last week with 3 down before half time looks to have sapped the boys this week against a team that played with the sacked coach phenomena.
We're going to struggle to get to finals, but this year we are developing our kids and they are going to be better next year.
Horrible injuries this year, but were still in it.

Well done to Peris on debut

We are broken

To many injuries to get any real connection going

Just playing like a bunch of individuals .... and bad ones at that

Been mentioned before but we are a bottom 4 side currently

Yet we are very likely not to get the draft rewards of a bottom 4 side ...... so we will continue to sit in no man's land for a while yet

Hawks & North will likely go past us soon due to their wealth of young talent and our aging broken mids needing to be replaced ..... couple of years of hurt coming up

Fair call & let's add to that we seem to have a weight room that doesn't work. Have they painted numbers on black foam that look like weights?

A few stats to back it up:

2022: 232 Marks inside 50 (22 games) - 10.5 per game
2023: 166 Marks inside 50 (18 games) - 9.2 per game

2022: Disposal efficiency 73.2
2023: Disposal efficiency 71.7

I suspect stats between the first 8 games and the rest of the season will be even further apart.

Now overlay the loss of key players - especially in the front half and redo your stats
Think you’ll find those numbers tell you nothing

That’s the ball game
Midfield up there with worst in AFL
Seriously pedestrian and not much relief in 2’s right now can change that
Fix that fix lots of issues
Can’t win footy games losing that much contested ball and keep putting backs under pump all day
GC just walked out of centre with ball at times
Anyway be good to go next week - my tip? Clarko will announce his big comeback game !!! Just in time
We ain’t good enough that simple
Still don’t think Harvey is a forwards coach…
And yet you and every other Ross apologist still think it's a good idea leaving Bytel out of the team

It's like smacking your head up against the wall and expecting the wall to give in at some stage. It fvcken won't. Try something different ffs!!

You're related to Ross aren't you?
Get over Bytel Scollop. He’s trash and will be delisted at years end. I’ve reported over and over that all our other young ones are much better. Get over him.

We has two all Australians. They now look quite ordinary. I think that's quite a coaching feat and possibly a drop, hard to quantify though, 2 -3 losses, maybe more.
