If Jimmy Webster plays on Toby Greene i hope Greene doesn't have the same day out that Luke Breust had on Jimmy, he kicked 6 goals.
If Jimmy is fit for purpose then he's our best bet to quell Toby, name another player on the list who you would be considered more trustworthy by his teammates in trench warfare, aka finals.
Jimmy is our Stevie Baker without the Jeff Fenech.

Everyone knows my thoughts on Howard, so if there is any wet weather around at all then he is not even up for consideration. If it’s dry, then you may possibly consider.
The fact he’s played NO football at all for 6 weeks….
You only bring in guns or needs based with that time frame. He doesn’t qualify as either currently with Battle & Wilkie also there.
Would you rather he come into a Semi after 7 weeks, a Prelim after 8, or a GF after 9?
Now's the time. We will need him if we play Brisbane or Carlton this finals series.

IEven if he is the team's best bet im still hoping he doesn't get turned inside out by a clever forward, this game will show if the Breust thing was an aberration for Jimmy.

Toby is not our biggest concern, the midfield is, especially if Sebby isn't right. Toby become less of an issue if our midfield gets the job done. And then we have to put some score on which is also an issue in a Ross Lyon team.
So our defence and Toby having a day out in tbe forward line is the least of our concerns.

Paton has towelled up Greene before, no idea why he isn't being selected.
He doesn't seem to bethe same player as he was before Roughy got hold of him.
Agree that he was an excellent lock down defender. Also kept Charlie Cameron goalless when he was running hot.

Jimmy did ok on him last time. He generally does a good job on the oppos most dangerous small forwards.
Toby hasn’t a huge record against StK
Ben Paton has had his number before too
Joey was on AFL360 last night and he reckons Cal Wilkie needs to take on the job.
Montagna said Toby is their most dangerous forward and he believes Wilkie is the best option
He acknowledged that Jimmy has done the job on some small forwards but he thinks St Kilda need the best 1-1 defender playing against their best forward
I'm going with Wilkie also - he's been our best defender all year and is rarely beaten. I wonder how Stocker would go on him if a change is needed...I'd try him before Jimmy
Inside 50 Wilkie as can out mark him .
IF he pushes up hand off to Webster to follow up the ground as Wilkie can play inside 50 on mediums
Days of straight 1 on 1 are rare unless FF

Let's see.
Hopefully Seb gets up and is solid as....in an ideal scenario Zac Jones also gets up.

Interesting Ross's presser has Cordy in front.
"Possession is 9/10 of the law" was the direct quote.
I don't agree but trust the club to make the right call.
VFL scratch match vs Collingwood on Saturday
Yeah I dint agree either. I hope that comment doesn't come back and bite him hard on the arse.
Doogs closing speed on a heavy and wet MCG could have been a good back up if Cordz was struggling. He's only shone in the past 2 games because our midfield was able to get on top of some weaker midfields.
I would have taken Doogs and Cordz into the game.
Clearly not going to be a score fest so defence crucial.

To answer my own question .. I'd be tempted to bring in Caminiti for Sharman .. and use Caminiti to relieve Marshall. It's just 'gut feel' but I reckon Caminiti is the sort of character that could have a breakout game in September.
Perhaps Sharman as the sub.
And to answer the original question, I'd lean toward Howard on the basis of his closing speed and his ability to get to more contests ..
I'd definitely go with Caminiti over Sharman if Dougs not in the mix, and not for speculative reasons re a possible breakout game ala Dermie, but becasue he's shown he's more capable of not only withstanding the physical side of the game, but also because he relishes the opportunity to dish it out, screams finals potential.
As I've said repeatedly, I can't even see him being in the mix this week after his performance against the Lions, Ross would have been filthy with the meek performance and this is a final after all and we know where Lyon stands on toughness.
So how’d Sharman and Caminiti go?
Idiot.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.
Jimmy is our Stevie Baker without the Jeff Fenech.
Steven Baker was an exceptionally skilled player. He could kick either foot, handball both hands, take a contested mark and most importantly, pick up the ball cleanly when it was in front of him. For his size, he was as good as anyone and he was tough.
Jimmy Webster is a dud in comparison. He has greater height but that's all. He's a fumbler and seems to have no vision at all. He can't even kick to a man 25 metres away. If Steven Baker (181cm) had Webster's height (188cm) he would have been an AFL champion.

Totally agree, Stevie way better than Webster, was my favorite player to watch out of that team.
