Congrats to Mattaes

Re: Congrats to Mattaes
Well yes good that he got a Brownlow Vote, but for this game cannot fathom how he was at all worthy of a vote.
Did the Umps get him and Owens mixed up, as Owens was one of the better Saints that game, whereas Mattaes was not?

Re: Congrats to Mattaes
Interesting listening to Sam McClure on SEN just a moment ago saying this was the first year the umps were not allowed access to their phones on game day so no opportunity to look up player stats to assist with their judging.
Best explanation as to the reason for some of the weird votes given, and not given.

Re: Congrats to Mattaes
That sounds like a backwards step.
The umpires should hopefully be concentrating on their jobs whilst out there - not player gazing
At the end of the match they will remember the big name players rather than the unkowns who played well - P Cripps - he tossed the coin, kicked a goal ran around a bit - better give him a vote because think of anyone else
