Too much time off…
In between games lead to a complacent mindset and lack of forward pressure. Essendon tore out of defence consistently and caught our defenders napping and out of position.

Too much time off or overworked over the 8 days, hence the heavy legs in n the second half ?

Yes
Occasionally you hear teams talk of the effects of short breaks .
If you have 3 or more in a row this can be a factor but I have noticed on many times when we have a break longer than 7 days , we do appear sluggish.
