I vowed to stop watching Ross on any video, TV, etc after the Doggies game.

It's like listening to a politician

Touting 28 inside 50s in the first half and 15 in the first quarter as a positive is a bit silly with how poor the looks are constantly

And Pou viewed as a mid long term... Is this trying to fit a round peg into a square hole a bit or do others here view him as a midfield prospect in the future?

These pressers are getting shorter by the week, but I’m sure polymer brain will have something to say about that.

Ross wanted to walk off after 2 and a half minutes. He seemed surprised/annoyed that the journos kept asking questions

Not at all.

Owens is viewed as a long term 'general forward'

Pou is viewed as a long term mid.

His quick hands for mine, remind me of a less polished Lachie Neale but add in the ability to take a mark and kick a goal.

Last year was good for the last two.

This year and twos is good for his development as a mid.

He looked tired and flat in the presser, I think the season start is starting to bite.

Maybe Lyon’s attitude is a little too negative. Maybe he should focus on winning instead of preparing excuses.

What we need is your supreme leader to generate enthusiasm and energy and get his team enjoying their footy.

That’s the coach’s job.

Our players put on a show for Instagram and other media posts, but I’d like to see positivity and smiles from players on game day.

I’m concerned when Rowan isn’t smiling.

Pretty sure Lyon is focusing on winning... I can understand criticizing the game plan, selections etc but continuing to spin fan fiction around the forum about coach and player motivations is exhausting. It has no basis in fact or reality.

What I think of the coach is irrelevant. It's the players that matter. If he brings the same energy to the team as he does to the pressers, it's no wonder we are going backwards.

The “he showed his true colors by taking the money and running” haters baited by yet another thread

Why there is a negative reaction to the compulsory “media” appearance I am not too sure

If you actually listen to what Lyon is saying you may learn something

Then there are “media” questions, noting what Albanese offered in regards media in an address in Canberra yesterday (and absolutely correct in my opinion)

Media is at low ebb, noting the challenges Murdoch has, his head honchos in Australia to stem the financial bleeding of that organisation in the face of declining audience

Mind you some assess the intensity of training from a 10 second coverage on commercial television

Go figure

If Lyon wasn't our coach, there is no way we play finals last year with the injuries we had for the first half of the season. No chance!
A few weeks ago, we would have beaten by twice as much against the Dogs if he wasn't coaching.
RTB can clearly coach, and I am certainly a lot more confident in our future than I would be if he wasn't in charge.
Hinckley and Bevo cop a lot of ire from their supporters too, but I think they should be careful what they wish for, because they just might get it.
The reality is just as has been pointed out in the media, that the era between 2013 and 2019 was an absolute sh*t show regarding recruiting and frankly, how any of those individuals with their fingers on those St KFC draft picks still have jobs in clubland (if they in fact do), defies logic. A monkey throwing a dart at a group of photos would have had more luck.
And I want the St.KFC to prioritize the draft for the next few seasons.
We have a good group of young players, just how good is yet to play out, but injuries cruelled our chances of top 4 last season, and injuries and suspensions have probably cruelled our chances of a finals berth this year, but at least the young players are getting not just games, but blocks of games, and in some cases, entire seasons' worth of games, worth of experience probably ahead of their time.
I would rather us be competitive and in 99% of our matches than previous models of the Saints where we are being beaten by ten goals regularly if we don't have close to our best 22 on the park.

convo's about imaginary friends are my absolute favourite

shimmery thin tall translucent blue ones , those little earthy brown green tinged balls waving their one eye around then the knee knocking mantis thingies tapping out the rhythm

living in the woodshed , of all places

can't believe sanity still reigns after growing up with those shapeshifters

Maybe we might have made the finals under Ratten, and might have beaten Dogs..why not? Lyon has been out-coached in a few games this season and one some dumb tactical moves in our losses where players just give every impression that they are in two minds about what to do with the ball in hand.
