Will probably be the strongest team the Scorps have fielded for many years.
Wall, Ferg, Gwilt all excellent defenders at VFL level. M.Clarke, Rix and Brooks makes the strongest ruck division in the league. Watts, Brooks both great marking targets. McQualter, Armitage, Carmody, Harrison, Eddy, Geary, Jones makes a great midfield.
Hille, Rama, J.Johnson, Peverill, Johns, Heffernan, Bradley, Bolton, Dyson, Houli, Lee, Cloke are a few handy players at VFL level as well. (Watson will probably be a late replacement for Hird).

The Casey Scorpions host Bendigo and each club has two distinct goals for the remaining two games of the season.
Casey's is to make the four, while Bendigo's is to slip into the eight.
The loser of their match at Casey Fields will have those hopes dashed. Bendigo's hopes will be strengthened further by Kevin Sheedy's omission of Jobe Watson, David Hille and Damien Peverill.

Look up Cranbourne. Close to Fountain Gate and Berwick. Just past Dandenong by about 15mins.saintdooley wrote:i know this is a stupid question, but does anyone know the exact location of casey, because i might go 2day.
EDIT: Casey is just the name of the council, which is actually one of the largest in Australia.

Yeah, I'm from around that area. I was just thinking if he was from Moorabin way or something whether he'd know Narre Warren. To get a general idea in the Dandenong direction.Saint Corin wrote:Cranny, is near Berwick, Narre Warren, Then there is Clyde on one side of it.SharpShooter wrote:Look up Cranbourne. Casey fields is about 5 minutes (if that) east of the main part of Cranbourne.

Half Time
Casey Scorpions 2.1 7.3 . .
Bendigo Bombers 6.2 9.4 . .
Better quarter from the Scorps, 5.2 to 3.2, but still a couple of goals down ...
Not sure if it's on the radio ... try 3SER website.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Casey Scorpions 2.1 7.3 9.5 .
Bendigo Bombers 6.2 9.4 13.8 .
2.2 to 4.4 that quarter.
Scorps are 27 points down ... would seem they have the scoring end in the last quarter, but would need to kick 6-7 goals to win.

Casey Scorpions 2.1 7.3 9.5 15.9 (99)
Bendigo Bombers 6.2 9.4 13.8 16.10 (106)
Close loss for the Scorps.
Never quite recovered from a bad first quarter.
Puts them out of the race for the top four, but they were playing a VFL side with a ruckman (Hille) and two midfielders (Watson, Peverill) who have at various stages this season been the best players in games of AFL.

Very true OWTS.
Very creditable performance from the Casey side. The VFL has been hard to predict this year with your slow start to the season and now coming home with a wet sail and other results which would have been hard to predict. Wouldn't worry about Port Melbourne after their effort yesterday.
We had the 12/10 rule applied to us and still beat them by 115.
Whilst on the topic, the 12/10 rule I believe is ineffective as we had one guy who was emergency for the seniors (Collingwood) a few weeks ago suddenly finds himself in the Williamstown 2nd's because of it.
Strange!
