he may have got plenty of touches but under pressure he is slow as wet cement drying.
very ordinary.
there was a small cheer when someone listening to the radio said farmer may have a broken jaw
Oh really Dan. I didn't know you had such hatred for Birss How many threads have you posted in that he looks ordinary? Any player Ross Lyon brought in is a dud according to you.
And hack pup is out again, bowled without troubling the scorers.
I've also said armitage looks really good, and he's one of RL's newbies.
also attard had a marvellous start to the season and looks to be a geniune find. I genuinely enjoy his hardness at the player and the ball.
I dont think've I've hated a st kilda player since Monkey, delany and tony francis, and even then I didn't really hate, them, I just thought they were crap.
And you'll find I've also said Doc Clarke is a really nice person, but not sure he was the best choice to bring to the club.
nothing to do with hate.
and I've been of the opinion thompson was hard done by and a better player than CJ, Birss, Raphael and possibly X over the past couple of months, and pretty sure X and Raph pre date RL
and I've also been a critic of Rix, and he was a GT inclusion.
and I've also been a critic of McGough, and he was a GT inclusion.
not everthing is about RL and GT.

Eevryone likes Armitage....He's a number 9 draft pick for goodness sake....
mmm plenty of early draft picks fall by the wayside.
I saw a recent analysis of round 1 draft picks and fair amount would be considered to have underperformed in comparison to players after them and a fair few have had non existant careers for reasons of motivation, injury, confidence etc.

Birss = McGough in a nutshell - both very good at VFL level in the midfield - plenty of touches, but unable to make the transition to the AFL.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
I thought Birss was pretty good, has added a bit in the rotation. Not a world beater but I think he's getting better by the week.
I've been of the opinion that Raph just needs a good run with no injuries & we'll see how good he can be. He's still very inexperienced but has shown glimpses of being a very exciting player.
As for Fraser, well he is more a victim of terrible ball use than anything. As he doesn't have the agility that he once had, he needs to ball kicked to his advantage (which at AFL level should occur more often).
yep noticed fraser's speed was very good but when the player he was chasing changed direction, fraser was erm....still going
but really when you have the strenght, power, straight line speed, marking ability and kicking ability of fraser, i think ppl are getting greedy if they expect you to turn sharply.
battleships dont need to turn sharply to pound frigates

The basic point of the thread still stands.
Raph had a good game on Satdee. The ignoramii won't give him a pre-season to prove himself.
Incidentally, Lenny, proclaimed as best on ground by most, turned the ball over with nearly every disposal in the first half. Would the nitwits declare he should be dropped or delisted?
The G-baggers are defending their view. They obviously haven't looked at the difference between the delivery he had on Saturday and the previous weeks. That, my friends, is down to the midfield, not someone who has won two Coleman medals.
Beware the IGNOR-ARMY

he had two clangers for the whole game...so if he turned the ball over with nearly every disposal in the first half and he had 13 touches in the first half of the game.....how does that add up then?
a clanger is a turnover/mistake i believe.
i can remember the bad kicks.
so i stand by what i said.
if he had 13 touches in the first half and we are saying he turned it over with NEARLY EVERY disposal are we saying that he had about 10 clangers/turnovers, maybe 11...thats nearly all isnt it?
he's effective possessions were at 69% according to the stats.
so no......he didnt turn the ball over with nearly every disposal he had in the first half.
