Ricky Nixon gave evidence and backed up Bakers version of events ...

Irrelevant consipiracy theory follows:

Google "Barry Kirkwood" and look on Australian sites and the first refers to a New Zealand psychologist (he obviously knows nothing, he's a Kiwi!), the second reads:

"Barry Kirkwood and Timothy Lane were sent Letters of Commendation."

(it's actually a surf lifesaving site but...Tim was VERY keen to beat this up and drive it along).

I dont care how long it takes as long as they get the right answer which I hope will be not guilty. I dont see what they have done so wrong. they havent interviewed all the witness but the cops dont either in a court case. They are doing everything know and that is all that matters. Lets wait for the finding and reasons before we hang them all after all Loewe and Burkey work in this area and I trust them as good people.

No, the cops don't interview all the witnesses.

They interview all the prosecution witnesses and all the prosecution witnesses evidence is available to the defence well before the hearing, if it results in a hearing.

I guess the prosecution here rests on the evidence of ????? Farmer, trainer, Nixon (?) - I'm really not sure.

The only witnesses the cops don't interview are the ones who are produced by the defence (Bakes' witnesses in our case) unless they are interviewed pretty much at the time and give a statement, whether positive, negative or neutral.

Or that is my understanding of "normal" Victorian court cases.

Fair enough. Time is not the issue for me either. Think there needed to be some more concrete evidence before bringing the case forward. I also think that if anyone has read someone elses testimony prior to giving their won that this might also be a problem.

On another note, video footage has become the norm and the deciding factor in just about every case I can think of in the last 5+ years, regardless of verdicts like the Barry Hall one. There is none here. I would have thought with the $'s recieved for TV and other coverage rights the AFL should have at a minimum ensured that FULL coverage of the entire ground would be available at all times. It isn't and that, to me, would be the AFL's responsibilty to ensure.

Hence, I still think it is a 3 ring circus and this time we are all waiting is actually just a waste of time...and energy for Baker and the club to defend him. The burden of proof seems to have been swung around in the case and I am not a fan of that either.
