Equation we win Adelaide lose we make the 8
Simple as that. not. Tigers look good we will have to play well to beat them and all I can say is go Pies.

but if Tigers win they will move out of bottom spot as Melbourne play Carlton so one of them will lose.plugger66 wrote:Simple as that. not. Tigers look good we will have to play well to beat them and all I can say is go Pies.
Surely the Tiges don't want to move up a spot in the draft due to one win in round 22???
Then again, if Adelaide beat the Pies on Friday night, we may as well tank the Richmond game to try and finish as low as we can.

Not sure any tiger player wants to finish bottom though.saintspremiers wrote:but if Tigers win they will move out of bottom spot as Melbourne play Carlton so one of them will lose.plugger66 wrote:Simple as that. not. And Kevin Sheedy is still without a job. I'm sure Terry Wallace will be doing all he can to get the Tigers up.plugger66 wrote:

What and give Brisnabe the motivation to beat Geelong at the Gabba. Even Geelong are vulnerable if their injury list develops.saintspremiers wrote:but if Tigers win they will move out of bottom spot as Melbourne play Carlton so one of them will lose.plugger66 wrote:Simple as that. not. Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

its as simple as PIES WIN and WE WIN BY A GOOD 5 GOALS OR MORE!

Is this really true? When they are a realistic chance to make the top 4 or, at least, to play us or Adelaide rather than Sydney in the EF (which is surely the preferable option, given how tough Sydney have proven themselves to be in finals football, wherever they play)?mad saint guy wrote:Fuggen Collingwood are suggesting that they might rest Buckley and a few others.
If they tank the game on Friday, they will go into the finals with a losing mindset and will thoroughly deserve to be torn apart by Sydney.

i can't believe i'm saying this, but go pies.
let's face it ... if we can't beat richmond we have no place being in the finals. if collingwood wins we should spank richmond.
if results fall that way then we have everything to play for and they nothing

Surely he won't. Imagine resting players and losing to Adelaide in a close one, if they could have got into 4th spot. And then imagine if the following week they went out in the first week of the finals.
It would not have seemed like a good strategy.
Doubt they will rest key players (unless Bucks needs a rest because he pulled up a bit sore after his first game back).

Correct. If they drop to 6 or 7, they are in a match where the winner plays the loser of 2 v 3 (likely to be WC & PA). So, if they don't travel to Perth, they would probably have to go to Adelaide.Teflon wrote:Also from what I understand IF Pies lose they risk dropping to 6 or 7 and a trip to WA second week in.....not good....
I reckon they'll be trying their little hearts out on Friday night. Bless them.

If Collingwood lose they would probably play Adelaide again as I think Hawthorn will beat Sydney.
If they win that, then it would proabably be Port or WC away in week 2.
They'd be crazy not to try to win. If they do win next week, they could possibly get a second chance, or stay in Melbourne in the second week of the final against Geelong, hawthorn or Kangas!
Well there's my sales pitch anyway, cheesy grin....
