Well Cats fans weekends have started very well.. I am sure their Premiership odds will have improved atad more now.

Lets hope the Kangas deflate their weekend

He didn't belong back this season anyway - a bit of karma IMHO!

i was at Bells hotel/pub in sth melb watching the game with the port Vic fans and when ben did his hammy they all cheared, and were happy, even though im going for port in the finals, i think their supporters are f#*king idiots, and total tight arses!

I know I'll get howled down, but I thought it was a rather sad moment: possibly the last in the career of a brave and exciting player who certainly has some serious personal issues and who has run with the wolves (but there is at least one other player rather closer to home who has not been much better, if at all, and yet I am sure most posters on this forum will be cheering for him if he gets back on the field in 2008).

I know some people think Dennis Cometti is funny, but I thought his lame efforts last night to make the same joke about ice three or four times were rather unnecessary. Full marks to Bruce IMO for just ignoring them until Cometti finally shut up.

Cousins is a sad and somewhat tragic figure IMO. On the whole, I feel sorry for him.

I'll save my hatred for players like GA Snr and Wayne Carey who have exploited and harmed others rather than just themselves.

I'd be disappointed if I didn't get to see him playing at his brilliant best again.

As for the off-field stuff, IMO he is a victim of a club and competition that puts their own interests ahead of that of the players.

My first reaction was "YES" and wish it could of happened in the game against us, Karma etc etc etc all the things that probably went through everyone's minds

But...

Seeing him in the rooms I felt very, very sorry for him.

I really hope that this does not tip the poor guy back over the edge and back onto the drugs, it could quite possibly do this. No-one deserves for this to happen, either him or his poor family and friends.

No sympathy at all.

Seeing him spitting on the carpet in the rooms confirmed that he is a feral wanker of the highest order.

But even before that, I never bought into this whole 'has a serious drug problem that he has successfully rehabilitated from' bulls***.

Cousins is and always has been a rich arrogant rock star favourite son. He took drugs for fun because he could. At no point was he in the gutter with a needle in his arm, no money, no home and no family or friends - he simply got caught out being a tosser, ran off to the states for this miracle 60-second rehab and came back in time to play finals.

The guy is a good footballer, but he is a wankstain on the sport IMO.

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.

Why should I feel sympathy for a guy who still has never apologized for his 'substance use'.

If it was so simple to 'kick' your 'substance use' problem by running off to Malibu for a month of Rehab, then why aren't all governments immediately instituting a similar programme to get the tens of thousands of substance users healthy again?

Do you honestly believe he is a reformed individual? This is the same guy who managed to hide his 'substance use' problem, so severe he needed a month of rehab, from drug testers for 3 years! NOT ONE POSITIVE TEST FROM BENNY-BOY. How hard is it for him to test negative still today? He certainly knows all the 'tricks' in passing drug tests - he has the experience at it.
You want to know what he thinks of the whole sorry saga? Check out his new tattoo, as seen on tv last night - 'Such is Life'. What, now he associates himself with Ned Kelly? IMHO he's laughing at all of us because he thinks he can get away with anything. And as for his Club and the AFL, they should all be ashamed of themselves. They have allowed all this. They bear a lot of responsibility.

Why don't we save our sympathy for those that genuinely deserve it, and not this smirking, substance using, gangster idolizing sycophant?

I feel sorry for guys like Chris Judd and Luke Ball who have had their effectiveness curtailed by injury.

I feel sorry for Nathan Brown and Goose who have had shocking broken legs.

I feel sorry for Luke Darcy who has had to retire after 2 knee reconstructions.

Sorry for Benny-boy? No way.

Well I gotta go out on a limb and agree with Meher Baba and say I thought it was a bit sad myself - the guy's still a champion player regardless of what a tool he may make of himself off-field....and he'd hardly be Robinson Crusoe there either...

Champions out of the game = bad news IMHO.

I have to agree with MB and Johnny on this.

Never happy to see a champion down like that.

100% correct. It couldn't happen to a more deserving little tosser.

Funny, I agree with what brewer said, yet I still don't like seeing a player get injured. :?
